PL Not Disclosing Plot Allocation On Eve Island

Overview

The PL are facing mounting pressure from their historical safe seat of Praslin whose inhabitants have been treated like milk cows for the past Five Years.
Little or no infrastructural work has been done on Praslin since year 2000. A fire station has taken 20 years to materialize. A swimming pool was donated by Vijay under the condition that his name is placed on it. Signs displaying national monuments paid for by Raffles, but cement poured by Vijay, have his name embossed on the national monuments sign. Monopolies have taken root in Praslin, hurting small businesses and strangling the economy of Praslin.

Praslin. Milk Cow Takes A lot

The Praslin milk cow for PL has traditionally taken a lot of abuse from PL. The island is made up traditionally of fishermen like the Lesperance and Uzice, Green farmerrs like the Ferrari and Maurels mariners like the Rose and Grandcourt families.

Today families are raising their voices. Each realizes they face losing Praslin to varied out side interests. Arabs, Russians, non residents that have contributed nothing to Praslin, are allegedly paying kick backs, to get priority to land belonging to the Government, intended for Praslin Resident Business as promised .

Enter Eve Island

Until now, the lot allocations for Eve Island, a reclaimed island in the center of Praslin, has kept residents patient and silent in the hope that they too can benefit from land allocation to help their businesses. Instead Praslin Business Community is learning that lots have been garnered by Vijay, Abaye, residents from  Australia, Russians, Arabs, who will build warehouses and then rent to Praslin business. This is a bit too much and residents are turning up the volume to expose the fraud and scams in the allocation process.

A Petition is being drafted, and a list drawn of those who want a plot on  Eve island that live on Praslin.

Tax System in Seychelles: Some Pay Some Do Not Pay!

Seychelles under IMF administration has exposed itself and the root of its malaise: a tax system that makes some pay, others do not pay!
This system of legislative abuse, at times, executive favoritism has created a system that is highly prejudicial to the common ordinary Seychellois, and those who dare take a risk to invest in paradise under the grips of the old Red Communist Guard.

Eden Island Does not Always Pay Taxes
On the signing of the lease for Eden Island, PL found it convenient to give Eden island three years Grace on the lease payments plus, Free Stamp Duty.

Six Hundred Villas later and hundreds of super yachts and catamarans later, what do we have? Dozens of super yachts sport the Hire craft license, which means, they did not pay taxes on their yachts when entering Seychelles. They are also enjoying numerous tax shelters, yet to be disclosed by the PL.

Hundreds of villas are being rented free of any tax to Tourists, and these funds are being banked overseas, and the owners are evading taxes in Seychelles. Evasion begets further evasion.
The question that begs an answer is this: why would PL condone such tax evasion, while strangling the common ordinary Seychellois to pay up each month? Why do they remain silent? Why does IMF play along?

Cutting Soft a Deals  for fake VIP's

To make matters worse, PL. Cut an agreement to upgrade the VIP facilities at the airport, paid for by Eden Island. The catch: " all Eden Island Guest can use the VIP facilities for free" and of course the litany of abuse does not end here, while the rest of Seychelles roughs it through the green and red line, trying to avoid ragged dogs and NDEA who have a habit of roughing us up on arrival.

UAE Abusing The Good Will of Seychellois!

A document is circulating on the internet that reveals a deliberate attempt to abuse the Good Will of the People of Seychelles by UAE as the Crown Prince attempts to side step taxes on vehicles he is importing into Seychelles.

The document is addressed to MLUH, Minister, Christian Lionnet, who has nothing to do with trades Taxes, nor with Customs.

Already it is taking over Five months for two Seychellois to get letters written by the Minister of Lands. Charlies Maurel, a Farmer, trying to subdivide a little land, and Jenny Pomeroy a Tourism investor who has applied for a change of use. One begs to wonder if this Crown Prince will get his letter before these two Seychellois who have been waiting for a letter for Five (5) months.

The importation of BMW's is a joke when we have numerous drivers in
in Seychelles waiting for work.
Taxi drivers line the International Airport daily, and wait Six to Eight hours at a time for a job.
PL is compromising our sovereignty and dignity as a people. Using tax concessions for the mega rich is not a good way to run a country. Khashoogi was afforded these special treatment under James Mancham. Now under James Michel, it is even worse.
The people of Seychelles must know that losing their country with PL in power, is a real, real risk.

Drugs Galore In Paradise!

NDEA has announced a seizure of heroin worth SCR. 112 Million. The drugs arrived by Emirates Airways from the Middle East. The consignment found it's way to Souvenir La Misere, a prestigious residential area in Mahe.

Three accused were remanded before the Seychelles courts. NDEA implies in its press conference that it has secured the capture of three small fries and the larger big fish are at large, yet to be apprehended.

They said numerous financiers left the country.
This is not the first cache of drugs. But this single cache exceeds in value of all the drugs seized in 2014.

2014 Drug Busts
The largest bust in 2014 was only valued at SCR 48 million.

Where Is The Escobars?

President James Michel has promised us at the formation of NDEA that he will deliver to us all the Escobars of Seychelles. When busts reach SCR 112 Million in value, and climbing, we have every reason to ask Mr. Michel, to deliver on his promise. Nabbing a driver, or corrupted Customs official is just not good enough at this point.

People of Seychelles Think!

The People of Seychelles must think for a moment. Think about how much damage SCR 112 Million in drugs can do to our small society. how many men and women would end up on the curb side in Market street? How many would end up dead , found on the curb side? How many families would have to face the scourge of drugs? How many sets of living room furniture would be sold? How many sets of clothing. Would be sold? How many tourist and Seychellois robbed, hacked by knives, to support the money supply of SCR 112 Million?

Is it worth it?

Direct Flights To France A Winner!

Air Seychelles has announced direct flights to France, Paris, Charles De Gaulle International, three times a week. Manoj Papa says this time, Direct Flights, means Direct Flights. We must congratulate him on this move. It is what all of Seychelles needs today, giving us direct access to Europe, but more critical, giving our largest inbound market direct access to Seychelles.

It is in a phrase a dream come true for our long struggling main inbound market.

Air Seychelles Needs To Get It Right!

Direct flights into Paris is one key. The next key, Manoj Papa needs to secure in his palm to make the flight work is the re establishment of the Air France Code Share agreement, which will allow Air Seychelles, direct access to the entire Air France network throughout France, north ,east, south.

The Price, Don't Forget The Price

After Manoj Papa locks on to a code share with Air France, he must crunch the numbers at 90 percent load factor and sell tickets at reasonable prices. In this deflationary cycle competition for Sun, Sea, Sand is fierce. Do not kid yourself, lob the ticket price for three months, from July to,September. Then lob it until December 15 th. By then you should have your tour operators online and this flight will be a grand success.

Praslin Most Favored French Market Destination

While you are worried about the success of the direct flights, have no fear. Praslin Mr. Papa is the most favorite and favored French Market Destination in the Seychelles. They prefer to arrive on Mahe and take a flight directly to Praslin. You have nothing but favorable winds ahead, just keep the price right, and upgrade on your staff politeness to meet and greet the French market.

Air Seychelles Promises Better Price Tickets

In the Cross Sector meeting held this week, with the Government of Seychelles Ministers, the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce, the CEO of Air Seychelles promised better price tickets on Air Seychelles. The commitment by Mr. Manoj Papa, could not come at a better time when airlines are charging Premium Ticket Economy fares into Seychelles, just because, it is Seychelles.

Paris - Seychelles Three Times A Week

We all heard about the announcement of the three flights per week from Charles de Gaulle. We all know the soap opera played out on recalling this route, and now four years later restarting the route. The key to success of this route rest in solid competitive pricing of Air Seychelles, along with a solid marketing plan, which must include a code sharing arrangement with  air France to easily access markets across France, and we are hence, not limited to just the Paris market.
We are looking forward to competitive prices from Mr. Manoj Papa and if he delivers as promised, we will strongly support Air Seychelles.

Air Seychelles Domestic Praslin Route

This route has had the Praslin community and La Digue up in arms with unpredictable prices, high fares which have punished the Tourism Industry on Praslin now for a number of years. The political fall out is obvious enough for anyone who dares walk about and listen to those in business on Praslin.

Minister Jean Paul Adam came to Praslin, listen to the Trade in a key meeting pushed by Christopher Gill and his subcommittee Secretary Adrian Uzice. Minister Adam took the message to Manon Papa that Praslin is suffering and Praslin needs attention.

In response, Mr. Manoj Papa pa has committed himself fully to me before Minister Joe
Morgan Minister of transportation and Chairman of Air Seychelles, that he will come up urgently with a comprehensive price adjustment making flying to Praslin affordable for Seychellois and Tourists alike.

We look forward to seeing Mr. Papa's proposals.

Rest assured Mr. Papa, if you keep your word, we will support you and Air Seychelles 100 percent.

If not, and you give us Balls, like Kramer did, Jet airways can always use you to replace old Kramer, who is likely serving ground beef in vegetarian menus there.

Luxury Yachts Mis-Use Hire Craft Status To Avoid Taxes

Numerous luxury yachts dockside at Eden Island and give the casual visitor the impression that Seychelles is indeed a very very rich country. The only problem is that the owners of many of these super yachts are absentee owners. They do not live in Seychelles, and would rarely ever be seen in the year.

In spite of this dubious absentee status, the owners have been granted onshore business licensing to operate hire craft vessels as a business.

The status which was suppose to be reserve for only bona Fidel Seychellois companies, has now become the preferred method of super rich super yacht owners to avoid taxes in Seychelles, contribute nothing to the economy, and enjoy the open sea policy in place when it suits them.

Minister of Finance needs to set up a committee involving the private sector to audit the veracity, credibility of these licenses.

In cases of clear attempts to defraud the government of Seychelles of taxes, the boats should be seized and placed on auction to recover lost revenues that cause the incidence of taxation in Seychelles to be so high and make people suffer with VAT 15 percent.

Jean Paul Adam is a fine gentleman. Unfortunately under his watch, he will have to grow some teeth fat to deal with the mess left behind by Pierre Laporte.

More on this issue of taxation next week.

Ramkalawan Misses Court Hearing

Ramkalawan Misses Court Hearing

The case of Ramkalawan vs Christopher Gill was set for full day hearing today at 9.00 pm in Cpurt No. 6. The case has been filed by Wavel John Charles Ramkalawan, seeking One Million (more) Seychelles Rupees, this time, from Christopher Gill for post done on Seychelles Reality Blog by its Administrator Mr. Gary Tall.

Mr. Gill has always maintained he did not publish or administer the blog or the comments at anytime.

While Christopher Gill turned up to face the false and frivolous claim, the Claimant Mr. Ramkalawan failed to turn up.

The Judge was tempted by Gill attorney Frank Elizabeth to dismiss the case. However, he set a date for July 31, 2015 for afternoon full hearing in the matter.

Mr. Elizabeth was a former MNA proportionately elected for the UNITED opposition in the 2006 elections, after Mr. Ramkalawan then broke the alliance agreement and removed Mr. Elizabeth from the National Assembly with the full support of the Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Patrick Hermine.

Over the years, numerous supporters have distant themselves from Mr. Ramkalawan, who Mr. Gill has dubbed the Seychelles " Priest Millionaire".

Mr. Gill says he justifies this claim because 1. Mr. Ramkalawan is a priest, 2. He is a millionaire, just counting his life pension he garnished for himself. This makes him a great success in the eyes of Bankers, but a poorer performer before God, as scripture calls on Priests to take a vow of poverty and serve the people, not get rich off them and live a life of opulence.

We will not settle this case to stroke Mr. Ramkalawans fatten ego Mr. Gill said. We will take it to judgment to teach this failing priest cum politician a lesson.

The lesson is do not let your emotions force your foot into your mouth in life. Pray before you leap on a SCR. 1 Million pile of money......it may never have been your money in the first place.

Pension Fund Goes Into Tourism Business!

The Pension Fund has built a self catering luxury complex that is being rented for SCR. 750.00 per day. In total 16 luxury units that out smart Lemuria Hotel suites.

The hotelier community of Grand Anse Praslin are simply dumbfounded over the affair.

Many have raised this issue with the Minister of Finance, who is new to the job and was unaware of the decision to license the Pension Fund into the hotel business. The principle of removing government from business has long been advocated by the IMF.

The self catering villas are positioned facing the STC car park and the Grand Anse Primary school. Additionally a housing estate is nearby, walking distance, and a petrol station stores fuel within a few feet of the luxury complex. The Petrol station is run by independent operator Grandcourt.

Hotel operators say they will stop paying taxes until such time that the Pension Fund cease self catering business.

Government of Seychelles has a huge backlog of requirements for housing for staff on Praslin.

Elderly Seychelloise In Deplorable State Under PL

Marie Antoinette Pool does not come from Port Glaud. Madam Pool has never served in the SPPF People's Defense Forces to allow her priority on housing. Nor has she worked at Praslin Development  Fund hiding Coco De Mers for the Managing Director.

Indeed madam Pool has never been seen in any rally, or at any District Office, lining up for a hand out from the State. She has lived through the English Colony Era, the Mancham Era, and the tormenting violent years of Rene, then Michel. She has heard about this housing project and that housing project. She has heard about many murders, many disappearances. In reply, she only prayed to The Lord for the fallen souls. Madam Pool prayed for a house one day......everyday, since Governor Bruce Greatbach ran Seychelles.

Today, young girls sleeping with the Minister, snorting coke here and there get lovely new apartments and cars courtesy of the State.

Madam Pool hears all this.........she only hears.........for she has been blind since birth....and PL has not seen her or heard of her.

She would like Christopher Gill to be President of Seychelles.

She may be blind, but she can see clearly.

Ten (10) Steps To Lower Crime

1. Keep good cordial relations with your neighbor. Your neighbor can be your best friend or worse enemy.

2. Always know who runs your Police Station. The officers in charge, are moved around every 3-6 months to different regional commands.

3. Keep contact with the regional command. This keeps him on his toes, and it keeps his lower officers, who many are under trained, on their toes.

4. Keep a written list of known criminals in your area. Check the list with your neighbors and pass information on to Police.

5. Keep a list of car license plates that roam around your area that are unusual. Pass the information on to neighbors, and Police.

6.Dogs are excellent warning signs if they are trained and tied at night.

7. If you tie one dog, release another, and rotate. One is a warning, the other can case a intruder.

8. Use deadlocks on your doors.

9. Learn to use camera applications with I-pad or i phone or equivalent.

10. To lower crime, first and foremost information is the key.

Seychelles Communist Steal From Emirates!

History repeats itself ......so the saying goes. In the case of the $500 Million development -investment project by Emirates Hotels, a branch of Emirates Airlines, the saying is painful for it's lost innSeychelles, Cap Ternay Mega hotel development.

Last week James Michel, the President of Seychelles, announced he will not permit this project to go through after it has been approved by the Planning Authority and the Consul of Ministers, which Mr. Michel presides over weekly.

$30 Million Lost Overnight

With this announcement, Mr. Michel, accused for taking on habits of a king or monarch most recently, cost Emirates Group $ 30 Million in losses from fees paid for the land, taxes, kickbacks, and survey fees, security fees, site clearing. Surveyors alone had spent two years on the site methodically drawing up a topole or site diagram to assist designers on placing units.

With Mr. Michel making such an abrupt turnaround, the Emirates money disappeared over night.

Emirates Airline Pullout Next

Emirates runs 14 flights a week to Seychelles. sheikh Mohammed has said on SBC the gay rights national broadcasting corporation program, that : " if we are not wanted here, we will just go. Our assets are all movable, we can just cut the flights. We have not built anything yet".

How Many Investors Have Been Burned In Seychelles

This question will take some time to list.

But for now, Arabs will go home!

Seychelles National Assembly A Fake!

The Seychelles National Assembly is a fake!

The legislature branch is intended to check and balance the executive branch. In Seychelles, the legislature flatters the executive in the hope that they get invited to a cocktail party.

PL SPPF MNA Restrictions

The PL MNA have numerous restrictions on their work in the National Assembly. It is nothing more then Pathetic!
MNA delegates elected and proportionately nominated are not allowed by their party to present any motions before the National Assembly. They are allowed to sit in house, give a little prepared and passed by Party speech on an issue. They are allowed to eat cakes and have tea in the tea break. But they are not allowed to present Motions on issues affecting their constituents before the fake house.

Motions In The Ocean

If a MNA sees a problem in his district, and his people are suffering for example the abuse of VAT 15 percent on food, clothing, shoes, medicine, salaries, that MNA cannot present a Motion before the National Assembly to reduce the VAT.

The MNA if they are really brave must ask a cc member of PL to discuss and then only when the Party meets and discusses this issue and it is approved for motion can it move on to the National Assembly.

The Party hence, acts like another branch of government, not provided for in the Constitution of Seychelles. The MNA becomes a slave of the system and is answerable to the real power a ghost committee.

Pathetic Beyond Belief

In the age of free exchange of ideas, this situation is sick and pathetic beyond belief.

Debate Dead

Debate, the great conduit of ideas in a free society is all but dead. MNA 's are not respected in the country. People ridicule them, make fun of them, and their families get hurt in the process.
As this happens hate breeds at the under belly of our country because the PL believe and advocate a policy that individuals are expendable, they can be used, then toss in the bin.

In the end, the Communist Party of Seychelles must survive.
