A Historical Day In Seychelles!

The Seychelles National Assembly today, was the venue for a auspicious and historical day.
Elected members and proportionately nominated members of the 6 th National Assembly met to be sworn into office officially in a solemn setting attended by the three branches of government, diplomatic corps, press, journalists.

Speaker Herminie Speaks

Dr. Patrick Herminie took time to explain and highlight the progress the National Assembly has made under his tenure as Speaker. While debate was absent from an opposition for years, the Speaker took to digging down and deep in administering the National Assembly efficiently and smoothly. He is credited with a fine job, given the circumstance he operated under without an opposition. Seeing so many LDS in the House, must have made his skin crawl and made him uncomfortable. Similarly with the Le Pep incumbent MNAs. At least they will have ample time to mould their personalities into an era of negotiation, compromise, insight, understanding, empathy, respect for fellow Seychellois. In passing, Speaker Herminie said," let by gones...be bygones". On a personal level that may be much easier, the on a national level. While the appeal has been made, the question of " How to proceed as a Nation on this passing point is the white elephant in the corridors of the House".

Pillay Statesman and Man of Reason

Patrick Pillay was nominated Speaker of the National Assembly. In no time,as he spoke, he revealed his sound leadership qualities that qualify him not as a administrative Speaker, but as a national Statesman in the making. As he spoke, Speaker Pillay hovered over the meat and ax grinding politicians. The man just has class and no one on either side can take it away from him.
Had he become Leader of Opposition, he would have been destined to put PL into a coma with politeness.
Instead, Speaker Pillay announced a clear agenda,of genuine national reconciliation, agenda to stamp out corruption, agenda to empower our people, agenda to bring Christianity back into our deliberations and lives.
Speaker Pillay reinforced this,by inviting the two Archbishops of Victoria to say a prayer. This was quoted from bible passages. In turn, the Bishops ask Charles DeCommarmond,Leader of Government Business to read a passage from the Book of Kings, wherein Soloman, young son of David prays for the gift of Wisdom to rule over his people well.

Ramkalawan Leader of Opposition

Wavel Ramkalawan read the passage in Creole. All in all, Speaker Pillay has set the wise ground work, for the People of Seychelles to start a new era, dismantling France Albert Rene procedures in the National Assembly. It is a breathe of fresh air, that even Mr.President will be able to find solace in.

Chart A Course of Dialogue,Peace,Prosperity
The mandate of all MNA s will be to bury hate first and foremost.secondly, impart on a course of genuine national reconciliation and civilized dialogue. Seychelles has matured. Our leaders will have to demonstrate that. Then,we must enhance the Peace and insure prosperity for "All Freedom Loving.......Seychellois!" (Sorry, I had to say that of course")

Seychelles Multi Party Election Results Peaks Interest in Land and Houses

The National Assembly election results last week sent the LDS opposition to the jackpot line, securing 15 seats plus 4 proportional seats. PL ruling party scraped by with 10 elected seats, and 4 proportional seats. It could have been much worse for PL, as results showed they scraped by barely in numerous districts.

A Victory For Seychelles
The elections were monitored by international observers. Voters cast their votes openly, and without harassment. Bill boards and posters were generally respected throughout the country, an indication of great maturity, wherein the USA Democrats are ripping apart Trump posters and burning them. Bravo Seychelles, overall, it was a splendid election for all sides, all sides can be proud to have done the right thing.

President Michel Hits Right Note
As the election results were read out and each party had their say, it was President Michel that sealed the envelope for stability and credibility of the Nation, making an announcement that Seychelles has come of age. The former coup plotter and colonel of the one party state, some say he was a jet fighter pilot, though we have never had any F-16 came on the podium and gracefully accepted defeat saying these key words: " The Will of the People is Supreme".

Will of The People Supreme
Indeed Mr. Michel is 100%. It is this acceptance,  that has entrenched Seychelles into the club of true Democracies around the world. For this all Seychelles can be proud, and Mr. Michel has set a resounding example of the way for word.

Impact of Acceptance of Will of The People

Immediately, websites on Seychelles real estate and houses surged. Phones began to ring the next day for people looking for land and houses to buy in Seychelles. Real estate prices and sales had previously gone stale in   long drawn out election over 1 year. After the results, the following Monday, numerous notaries were being given orders to prepare documents for house sales on Mahe and Praslin, now recognized as " The Most Beautiful Island In The World".

The Time To invest in Seychelles is Now!

The writing is sticker along the fine sands of Seychelles: " the time to invest in Seychelles is Now!"
The PL and the LDS will take the right steps to insure the interest of the people is safeguarded, and a culture of dialogue, negotiation is cultivated in the spirit of : " Sesel Pou Seselwa".

May God Bless All Freedom Loving Seychellois!

HOW DIPLOMATIC IS OUR PRESIDENT. ???

I would like to share my experience that I would describe as " How diplomatic is our President James Michel?"
I was a legitimate Candidate of LDS and was standing for Baie Ste Anne's National Assembly's Election.

r. Loizeau the Baie Ste Anne polling station Presiding Officer. As he left I continued my conversation with the two gentlemen. I simply asked them if they have realized what had just happened. The two International Observers expressed how embarrassed and shocked by the President's Protocol.
I even went further asking them if this kind of attitude would eventually happen in their respective country. The answer was obviously NO and NEVER. That's bad for Seychelles.
So I asked the Observers to stand right there and watch the next episode. I then proceeded inside the Polling Station where Mr. Churchill Gill the Parti Lepep Candidate was standing to observe what happens next.
After that the President concluded his discussion with
Mr. Loizeau, he then walked towards Mr. Gill and gave him a firm hand shake and exchanged few words with him. Then he also greeted the Parti Lepep Polling Agent.
At this very time I was standing right there next to Mr. Gill approximately a meter away. The President ignored me completely for the second time. He then walked away.
Just after that, I walked back to the two International Observers to find out what they had to say in regards to the
President's attitude. I dare not say how they described our President!
I sincerely felt so ashamed for him and foremost for the Seychellois. I want to ensure you all that I never felt humiliated at anyone time during the events. The only thing that according to my " savior faire " I can say that obviously one cannot give back to somebody else what he or she hasn't got!
In other words to my personal understanding. Our President James Michel is only the President for Parti Lepep citizens, lack of Etiquette like-wise and especially when it happens before the International Observers.
For the last days I have been receiving only compliments from my supporters and at the same time few of them expressed how embarrassed they felt for me when the incident happened in their presence. I reassured them that I am humble as always and I am ready to face any kind of obstacles. I am so determined that this kind of " little Petty
issues" will not deviate my vision and the love that I have for my beautiful country Seychelles and my co citizen.
I honestly do not want to be too judgemental but this was extremely wrong.
I wish and hope that this kind of attitude never happens again to our President or any other prospective President in the near future.
The least one can ask is that our President show case that He or She is the President for all Seychellois under on Flag.

Attorney General Falsely Suggest President Removal Is Easy

Like all Seychellois, I carefully and attentively listen to the Attorney General Ronnie Govinden on his summation of the new situation wherein the National Assembly will be a opposition majority control Assembly. The Attorney General suggested that with a majority control of National Assembly, it is easy to remove a sitting president. This is categorically sloppy thinking, or bad reading. Full Stop!

Removal of President ARTICLE 53. (1)

Mr. James Michel, so you sleep well at night, read article 53 (1):

This article shall have effect for the removal of the President from office on the ground of mental or physical incapacity.

Article 53 (3) provided in relevant part:

Where notice in writing signed by not less than half the number of members of the National ASSEMBLY,of a motion requesting that the question of the mental health or physical capacity of the PRESIDENT to discharge the functions of the office of PRESIDENT ought to be investigated is given to the Speaker, the Speaker shall- ( shall is mandatory language in statutory construction and interpretation, meaning the SPEAKER must act)

(a) where the [Assembly] is sitting.....cause a motion to be considered....as soon as practicable within Seven (7) days Notice,

(b) ...if the [Assembly] is not sitting! then summon the Assembly to meet...within Fourteen (14) days of the NOTICE and cause the Notice to be considered at that meeting.

It's not easy ! But read on.

(4) motion ....shall NOT be put to debate, but put to direct vote. The vote must be by 2/3 majority or super majority, Not simple majority as Attorney General wrongfully states.

Once the motion is passed by 2/3 , then and only then, is a copy delivered to the President and the Chief Justice. Then, under Section (5) the Chief Justice must appoint a medical board consisting of not less then Three (3) persons who are qualified medical practitioners ( probably under GOP) who shall look into the matter and make a report to the Chief Justice.

Once this report is done, the Chief Justice must then inform the Speaker. Then the ASSEMBLY must be summoned and then adopt the recommendations of the Board. Only then shall President cease to hold office.

So you see, it is not as easy as Mr. Govinden alluded to. Why would he misrepresent this important detail, I do not. Know. Maybe he wants another election next month.

Article 54 deals with removal of the President for violating the Constitution. This is even harder to do .

Take The BIG EASY OUT!
What is easier to do is the Cabinet remove the President or even better for us and MO Ibrahim his sweetheart whisper in his ears and say: " Cherie, I think we have had enough, let's relax in Abu Dhabi now....they just.  Love us there"!

Seychelles Elections 2016- " Met Anba"!

The elections are under way for the National Assembly of Seychelles today for the inner islands and Mahe, Praslin.

Traditional PL voters dissatisfied with the governments performance and Five (5) years of neglect are saying to each other : " Met Anba"!

" Met Anba" refers to the last box on the ballot where LDS candidates are placed. It is an ideal instruction for those who are confused, with the third force, whose motives are questionable.
Voting has never been so simple!

Met Anba!

Breaking News: Francourt Cheats At Football!

The leader of SPM, commonly referred to in the LDS camp as Senir Plume Movement, has aired a PPB wherein he is playing football with 8-10 year olds at Anse Etoile.

In the PPB, Frankcourt makes a move for the ball, targeting the goal. He lines his legs and coordinates his foot, with shoes to kick the ball into the goal for a score. The Eight year old goalie waits with baited breathe. Frankcourt gives the ball a good solid kick, it slants to the sea side, far from the goal. Goalie gets mad at Francourt for making such a pathetic kick, unbecoming of any decent player.

Then, as the kids keep Francourt on his toes as if they are the financiers of his Senir Plume Party, Francourt cheats, grabs one of the kids roles him around in circle. Contact in the form of grabbing and hugging, even kissing, violates all known footballs rules.

What rules is Francourt playing by?

After 20 Years Access To Anse Georgette Still Not Resolved By PL!

Constance Lemuria Resort & Golf of Praslin continues to discuss a more permanent public access to Anse Georgette. End of last week the Resort's General Manager Bruno LeGac met with Minister Alain St.Ange, the Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, the Hon. Marc Volcere, the elected Member of the National Assembly (MNA) for Grand Anse Praslin, Norman Francois the District Administrator (DA) for Grand Anse Praslin, Anne Lafortune, the PS for Tourism, Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Tourism Board and Shirley Joubert from the Praslin Office of Department of the Environment. The aim of the meeting on site at Praslin was to discuss for a more suitable and permanent access to Anse Georgette without having to cross the Lemuria Golf Course as this remains aspen to an accident to happen as golfers playing are not always aware that people are using course to also access a beach.

This is the second back-to-back meeting between Minister St.Ange and the Lemuria Resort's Management and follows the meeting held but a week before at the ESPACE Offices of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture when the Minister met with Jean Weeling-Lee, a Director of the Resort's Company and Bruno LeGac , the General Manager of Lemuria Resort.

"Many Praslin Hoteliers, large and small see access to Anse Georgette as being a real challenge for their guests. We need to find a long term solution to the problem which is why we are sitting with all concerned to discuss the matter" satin Minister St.Ange before adding that the Department of the Environment and the Resort will now be working together to explore possible access routes before the next meeting is called in the coming weeks. Minister St.Ange also said that Anse Georgette remains one of the natural assets of Praslin and as such needed to be accessible to visitors and Seychellois alike.

Lights Going Out on PL!

Unconfirmed reports from State House, report, that the President, Mr. James Alix Michel has called a round table off staff and close secretaries to advise them that the campaign is not going well. He advises his close staff that he no longer knows who to trust, he no longer knows who is sincere, and if PL loses this election, he will set in motion, the moves for an early retirement and leave the sinking ship with Vice President Danny Faure.

Lights Going Out Everywhere!

The mistrust of Michel for his entourage comes as numerous leaks are surfacing. The 40 plots of land owned by PL, the 10 plots allegedly in his name, the list goes on and on. Close to Michel, is Glenny Savy who is now under microscopic lenses of the opposition. Lawyers are researching titles to land, money transactions full time, to build a case for Savy. Overseas lawyers have been hired as well in Singapore and USA to investigate Mukesh as well.

If LDS gets a majority in the National Assembly they will use this power to investigate and expose corruption and corrupted acts. This scenario, if Ramkalawan is kept in check, by leaders in LDS, will unravel 40 years of dirty deals, and shady transactions.

As Lights Go out Darkness Reigns!

One Minister is on the phone calling former SPPF who have been sidelined and forgotten by Michel. He is asking them to come and help, bail water from the sinking ship, help them, do door to door, write letters, notes, attend to voters, anything to help, since they no longer know who to trust.

The person replied categorically- " sorry, wrong number".

Why Are The Lights Going Out?

The lights are going out because Michel during the years he ruled as President, sidelined Rene hard liners. He was embarrassed to be associated with them. He found fault in them, they were not good enough for his new entourage which included new found friends like Mancham, Belle, others, who knew Michel needed credibility, so they obliged when the requests poured in.

Fundamentally, Michel Administration has not founded its politics under any ideology. The Public does not know what Michel believes in, what he stands for, hence, there are no political battle lines to cross or to defend. PL people under Michel have grown accustomed to just floating in, floating out of the party, without regard for the ideology of the leadership, because there is none!

Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa

If a leader has not made it clear what he believes in, who will rush to support him?

Answer: Send the drones over Freedom Square for the answer....don't count the tents!

Michel Tries To "Jump Start" Praslin!

The battery is running low, low, as low as you can go on Praslin. Praslin has become the most neglected island in the inner island group, and worse managed over the last Five (5) years. As elections loom, PL led by Mr. James Michel, has tried hard to jump start the island, a former PL stronghold, turned opposition in Baie St. Anne, and of course, Grand Anse.

Baie St. Anne Enjoys Devine Intervention

The Lord has placed his grace on suffering Baie St. Anne. This district is home to hundreds of heroin users, hundreds of HIV, after year on year neglect of the issue in this district. The hospital is falling apart, though the Minister of Health is a former MNA from Baie St. Anne, she did not have the decency to flog some paint on this gross building before the rally held opposite the site. The Baie St. Anne Hospital, opened by France Albert Rene today is a national shame and national disgrace. Behind the pharmacist counter they have a cleaner unqualified dispensing pills and medication. She takes it upon herself to question a doctors prescription and give her own.
The grace of The Lord has come in the form of Archille Savy to deliver us from the years of neglect. Archille is well educated, speaks English, French, Creole, Greek, Spanish. He uncompromising when it comes to compassion, understanding, empathy for his fellow man irrespective of political affiliation. His sense of doing what is right is beacon of light in a dark place where Gris Gris has taken hold of his political opponents.

Wavel Flies In Grand Anse

Young Wavel Woodcock is the only candidate that reads well and writes well in Grand Anse according to Mike Jean Louis who has endorsed him, but would have made an ideal candidate as well. Grand Anse should be an easy win for Woodcock.

Michel Tried His Best!

As the sun began to set on the Praslin sky last Sunday, Mr. Michel went to the podium on stage, before a crowd from Mahe, La Digue, few from Praslin, and spoke. As he spoke, many of his supporters, showed disrespect, walked out, ushered into one of the numerous Indian shops in Baie St. Anne for a " Green Apple" or Guinness. It was sad. Michel put on a brave face to a passive- passive crowd. He told them Churchill saved England in the Second World War ( not true, it was really Roosevelt and the USA), he said today we are lucky to have Churchill here, to save Baie St. Anne ( from Mitcy Larue I suppose).

Churchill was the last name of Winston, and Churchill is the first name of Gill. I suppose Mr. President got confused on this one. It is a little like going to the hair doctor and you ask him: "
Doctor, Doctor, I am in a hurry, I need to catch my private jet back to Seychelles, plant me some fish......on my head, make it fast!"

Ce La Vie!

After the elections, I trust we all have grown up a little more and use words wisely......our people are no longer stupid, as if we ever were!
