Air France Code Share Another Winner!

Once again the management of Air Seychelles has listen to the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce (SCCI) appeal to line up its ducks before it launches the Direct Flights from Charles De Gaulle into Victoria, Mahe Seychelles.
Good Job Manoj Papa
Congratulations Manoj Papa  and Joel Morgan on a sound decision.

Good Job James Michel, cough cough!
Undoubtedly, James Michel President of Seychelles back tailed to Paris this year and met with Prime Minister Hollande and ask for setting up of the code share to strengthen relations with Seychelles, after Air Seychelles abruptly pulled the carpet on Air France in 2008.Michel was President of Seychelles when this was done. So he took the heat for it. Now, he is still President of Seychelles, and he has backtracked, and cleaned up his mess. He deserves credit for that: Congratulations Mr. Michel! hic hic!

Next Step: Solid Competitive Ticket Pricing

Now the next step is solid ticket pricing on Air Seychelles Domestic and International routes which will be code shared with Air France.
Emirates is discounting tickets into Seychelles (euro 800.00). They have announced a double daily to Seychelles, with two (2) Boeing 777-400. This has been negotiated by Minister Alain St.Ange, to keep Tourism alive in Seychelles. Credit to the Minister for this we know it was not easy.
Air Seychelles is still selling tickets from Paris at a nut bag price of euro 1,800.00 round trip, economy. This cannot work in today's deflationary cycle in France. Yes there are many rich people in France and Europe for that matter, but they are not stupid. Our pricing must be competitive if Air Seychelles and Seychelles are to relaunch the destination of Seychelles as a place for the reasonably heeled traveler. If Air Seychelles does not take a long term view to secure market share on the route, it will have only itself to blame......again.

Reduce Fair on Domestic Praslin Route
Another winning move, will be to reduce the domestic flights between Mahe and Praslin to allow Visitors to freely travel between islands, and really enjoy Seychelles stress free, without feeling ripped off as they do when they fly today or take the ferry.

For Seychelles to work well, and for us to take advantage of those 4G digital marketing tools in Visitors hands, we need to stop ripping them off. This starts with Air Seychelles.

We are waiting for the promised reduction in domestic prices Mr. Papa. You can do it, and guess what? Air Seychelles will make more profits from it. That will leave you to the title of Hero of the Indian Ocean, a title well earned once you drop the ticket prices.

Air Seychelles Signs MOU With Air France Finally!

Air Seychelles and Air France yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), heralding a new era of commercial cooperation between the two carriers.

The agreement was signed at a meeting in Aix en Provence in France between Joël Morgan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Transport and Chairman of Air Seychelles, and Frédéric Gagey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air France.

The MoU lays the groundwork for a commercial agreement that will deliver a range of benefits to both airlines and their customers, including codeshare opportunities between Air France and Air Seychelles on each other’s respective air networks, reciprocal frequent flyer points earn, redemption and recognition benefits, as well as technical and cargo cooperation, subject to regulatory approvals.

Minister Morgan said the MoU was an important development that will support the commencement of a non-stop, three-per-week service to the French capital on 1 July 2015.

“This new era of cooperation is the result of a bilateral meeting between President Michel and President Hollande held in Paris last December where it was decided that direct links between France and Seychelles were a necessity.
“The renewed partnership with Air France is a significant milestone for Air Seychelles and forms a key part of our strategy to build upon tourism arrivals from France and the wider Europe region. It is something that we have worked very hard to achieve.
“The MoU I have signed will continue to build upon our already excellent relations between Seychelles and France and will also boost business between our two countries,” Minister Morgan said.
Manoj Papa, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “We are excited about this partnership with Air France, which represents a shared commitment to build the passenger and cargo market between Seychelles and France.”
Mr Gagey said: “We are pleased to develop our relationship with Air Seychelles, which will provide guests with enhanced access between France and the Seychelles archipelago.  Through this MoU, we can explore joint opportunities that will give business and leisure travellers an unmatched offering and add to our bottom lines.”
In July 2014, Air Seychelles launched a twice-per-week service between Seychelles and France via Abu Dhabi.

James Michel Has No Plan For Fishing Industry

This week Mr. James Michel called on SBC to film him as he walked about the fish processing facility financed by the Government of Japan to assist the Seychelles in developing the artisanal and industrial fishing sector. It was a sad and pathetic display of the failure of James Michel, his lack of attention to detail and lack of focus of his administration to develop Seychelles economy effectively and above all, successfully.

Japan Finances Fish Process Facility

The Government of Japan financed 100% the fish processing facility. While the Michel Administration cuts the ribbons, the hard cash came from Japan. They voted the cash to set up the fish processing plant. James Michel on the eve of elections, is acting as if he financed the facility. It was Japan, Mr. Michel. SBC did not have the courage to ask Mr. Michel a single question. They just let him ramble along and mumble along as usual. How many more years can Seychelles afford to have a rambling and mumbling leader? How much have we lost?

Fish Cutting Table, But No Ice Plant

The facility at Providence has facilities to cut fish. But it lacks the key ingredient and/component to make the fishing Industry work: ICE! There is no functioning ICE plant. Opps! Another James Michel blunder. Build the facility but forget about the ICE plant. Any illiterate could tell you -"you will need an ice plant to produce ice at at least 3 -6 tons per boat per trip. Without ice, fishing is not possible.

No ICE No Bank Loans Being Paid

If fishermen do not get ice, there boats sit idle to the docks. The loans for purchasing and building these boats are not serviced and they go into default. After all these years of promises of developing our Blue Economy, James Michel has delivered himself, nothing but a few spots on SBC and a few visits to the fishing docks financed by Japan. The development of the Blue Economy has been a total flop.

PL Wake Up!

PL wake up! I am not calling on you all to divide and rule your party. Your party is your business. But the President of Seychelles is our business! Retire this fellow. Tell him he has served three (3) terms and send him off to UAE to enjoy himself. We need to build Seychelles, and we will need all hands on deck. The most dividing factor today, remain James Michel. Simply thank him for the years of bankruptcy and thank him for the invasion of Arabs and Russians, then let us get on with fixing the mess.
I wonder if he still does not believe in Christmas? He sure did not think we needed ICE plants for
fishing!
