SBC Still Not Independent

After over Twenty years since Constitution was passed by the People of Seychelles, numerous provisions of the same, remain to be implemented by the PL and defunct dis functioning apparatus.
One example of this is the bias pro government SBC.

The Constitution of Seychelles made it clear that the SBC will
Be an independent broadcasting organization task with report not fixing the pulse of the Nation.
Given that it is funded fully with taxpayers money, the mandate is normal.

After failing to achieve Independence successful under Ibrahim Afif, who played a pure State House, tune, Mr. Afif was replaced with Mr. Antoine Onezime.

Mr. Antoine Onezime was appointed by Michel Administration to hold the helm at SBC. The Public was ask to be patient and let Mr. Onezime implement his program of Independence.
Years have passed. Little independence if any s been achieved.

What has been achieved is Gay Rights and Gay Advocacy at SBC. Openly gay citizens have commanded their own television shows, they have hosted programs, they have cunningly used the public purse balancing Michel Administration agenda, with their own agenda, to achieve great success on Gay rights, HIV issues, and Gender Equality. I am happy for them and congratulate them.
Now Mr. Onezime what about the rights to equal treatment for all other Seychellois?

Are you ready protect and enhance our constitutional rights?

Are you prepared to allow taxpayers a voice?

Or do taxpayers have to push for your unfettered removal at SBC?

Mo Ibrahim and Pure FM Wants Michel To Resign

Mo Ibrahim Foundation

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation founded by telecoms multi millionaire from Egypt, has a Gracious Bounty out for all dictators of Africa which pays them $ Five (5) Million to retire from office and allow the transfer of power to take place, become more fluid. Part of the package is international honor bestowed on the Dictators and carte Blanche to travel throughout Africa to ask other dictators to resign and let their people live free of their long arms, free of their shadow.

Rene Failed Mo Ibrahim Test

France Albert Rene thought he would receive this great award of honor when he resigned. But Rene kept the controls from the back ground and the shadows. He resigned himself to the life of social misfit confined to compound, protected by his own Army of men.

Pure FM Enters Call

Pure FM has entered the discussion on the Mo Ibrahim Foundation Award. They discussed the Foundations Awardees without mentioning His Highness James Alix Michel name, so fear of losing their radio license. The radio station of course is owned by a Maldivian businessman,Didi something, and they have not been known for their courage.

Four Terms Is Four Terms Duffus!

In spite of the cowardice of leadership at Pure FM, the word is out on His Excellency His Highness James Michel is up to abrogating the Seychelles Constitution and destroying it to shreds.

Four Terms, is four terms, no matter what your girlfriends says to you in bed, between reciting Seychelles Regulations (S I).

PRESS RELEASE SCCI 2015

                                                     

The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce (SCCI) Sub Committee on Praslin, Chaired by Christopher Gill, and supported by SCCI Chairman Mr. Marco Francis have held a historical first ever meeting on Praslin with key players on the economic-financial playing field of Seychelles with the Praslin business community on Friday February 27^th, 2015.

. In attendance was the Governor of the Central Bank (CBS) Mme. Caroline Abel, newly appointed Minister of Finance Mr. Jean Paul Adam, newly appointed Minister of Investment Mr. Michael Benstrong, Mrs. Maryse Berlouis, Principal Secretary of Investment, Dr. Steve Fanny, Mr. Rupert Simeon (Seychelles Investment Bureau (SIB).

The meeting was also attended by the Seychelles Bankers Association Chairman, and numerous commercial banks were present including: Barclays Bank, Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) ,Seychelles Commercial Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of Ceylon and the Nouvobanq.

In attendance were over Fifty (50) strong businesses representing a cross section of the Praslin business community from fishermen, to boat charters, excursions, ferry service, destination management companies, hotels, restaurants, suppliers, Taxi operators, omni bus service operators, farmers.

Top on the list of priority of issues to resolve was the high ticket prices on Air Seychelles domestic, the need to put into effect the cut of VAT on interisland cargo, the need to reduce VAT on goods, services and salaries in a deflationary cycle, the Pension Fund entering the self-catering business to compete with small hotels already suffering low occupancy below 50%, high cost of loans, interest rates, and the unstable Rupee- Euro rates which affect the hotel industry adversely.

The meeting went on for Three (3) hours in a frank and to the point manner, terminating on a positive note, wherein the SCCI has committed along with the Ministry of Finance, to see what can be done to reduce the hardship of the Praslin business community to turn the investment climate on the island known to be the “Garden of End”.

Mr. President James Michel is at it again. Another speech, another cover up.

Four Term President Cum King?

It has been highlighted that it is his 11^th State of The Nation address, implying that he has “Four (4) more”. Terms of Office just does not work that way your Highness.

The trappings  of royalty are abound in abundance for Mr Michel these days. The Rolls Royce, the Rolex watches, the trips to RAS Marina Ferrari Track yearly, along with other royals.

Of course, there is the courting: the welcoming of royals regularly, the offering of Shiekhs, opportunities to buy up our patrimony sometimes even for just a single Seychelles Rupee.

In exchange, we get a royal gift here and there. A windmill here, a windmill there, in spite of their energy production being inefficient and inadequate. It’s a gift, and one royal cannot offend another royal and dispose of the gift. It is not polite.

In the meantime, the hotel nearby Beachcomber, must offer guests stay 6 pay 3, with free transfers to from Mahe to St. Anne Round Trip. Breakfast and dinner included.

In his defense, His Highness may say: we did not think of that, of course not.

Cap Ternay On Hold He Says

Yes, Mr. President His Highness James Michel has told us the Cap Ternay Emirates Hotel project is on hold. For how long? Until the Fourth Term election? Indeed his Highness has advised us through the Ramgoolam ( His Highness Best Friend) press in Mauritius that he will seek a Fourth (4^th) Term and run again, when in fact he should just be finishing his Fourth Term in 2016, and call it a life’s work undoing the financial mess he created all by himself.

You saved Cap Ternay for 12 months, but you destroyed our financial credit worthiness since 1992. That is 23 years of BAD CREDIT, BAD image, your Highness, yes, even if you say: “I Love Seychelles”. Do you really Love Seychelles or do you Love the comfort of the trappings of power, Seychelles has given you?

Does Mo Know You Love Seychelles?

I beg to say your Highness: “if you really do Love Seychelles, simply finish your term and retire. In return, we will call Mo Ibrahim and tell him you finished off as a great Dictator. This will entitle you to the $3 Million prize, which you can pledge to repay the debts, you created and did not pay off.

The Youth Are Asking Questions

The Youth are asking questions, since all these pretty images of Seychelles you paint in your speech does not reach them. Their numbers are growing everyday.

The Rich Country

His Highness says we are very rich, No. 1 in Africa. He says 85% Seychellois own their home. We are No. 1 in Africa, because you condoned a policy of MONEY LAUNDERING in Seychelles.

We are rich because we launder money for the rich, that never reaches the average Seychellois. How much of that $15 Billion laundered through nominee companies reached Seychelles? That is the truth.

85% Seychellois Have A Home

How many Seychellois are still paying for their home each month, which you say you gave them? Answer: 85%. Some died. Their children took over the loans. Yet many of these houses are given to Seychelles by Shiekh Khalifa for free. You resell or rent the houses and indenture our people into a rental pool. Given our history of slavery and abuse of land rights, do you think that is fair?

The Economy Is Failing Again

His Highness says boldly the economy is faltering -2.8%. Well, I have been saying that will happen for the last 12 months. His Highness and his team under the guise of collective ignorance, ignored my effort to highlight the rough patches ahead. Guess what? Unless you get serious, it will get only worse.

His Highness has given Seychellois and foreigners alike a preoccupation with guest houses. In 2013 he licensed 426. In 2014 the number went up to 467. This has been his economic policy for growth.

Absent Income Earner

Foreigners live overseas, rent their houses in Seychelles, repatriate their earnings overseas, if they ever make it to Seychelles, tax free, then those that live in Seychelles like us, pay VAT 15%.

Super Yacht Madness

The same thing happens with super yachts. The super rich dock their super yachts in Seychelles, they live overseas, and GOS collects nothing on the residency of the super yachts. The yachts when in use, break our corals, dump shit in our ocean, throw plastics over board and do an occasion shark feeding party that attracts large beasts to the plateau that end up mulling our visitors.

-5% Revenue

Yet His Highness has the audacity to ring the bell and tell us we are -5% from last year in governmental revenues collected. Then he says: “I Love Seychelles”, give me a Fourth Term, by implication abrogate the Constitution of Seychelles for me, because “I Love it at State House too”.

-23% Deficit 2014
