Eve island a reclaimed island of approximately 30 acres was back filled, dredged at the heart of Baie St. Anne,Prsslin, in the center of boating,cargo, ferry, cruise ship activity. The dredging project cost over $6 Million.
The SPPF Le Pep government justified the development as a project that will:" give priority to Praslinoise, make land available to them, to develop the economy of Praslin, support Industrial and Commercial center". It was further stated by government: "there will be no housing or residential uptake by Praslinoise on this site."
No Tender Process No Clear Allocation Policy Ever Disclosed
Praslinoise are outraged by the lack of tender process and allocation process for Eve a Island plots. Slowly every one watched dumbfounded as projects would go up on extremely prime sites besides the cargo port jetty road. The first site to be built we have now learned belongs to a company called Laxman Construction. This company is owned by Vijay Construction company ex- foreman on Praslin, RECENTLY NATURALIZED.
How did a recently naturalized Indian national obtain perhaps the most valuable and strategically important plot besides the Cargo port gates?
How did MLUH decide to overlook Luc Grandcourt, overlook William Rose, Gerard Rose and other ferry cargo operators on this critical site and others along the road that has now been dubbed: Mahatma Ghandi Road, Eve Island?
Is there fraud in this transaction as well with the other allocations along Mahatma Ghandi Road?
Cancel Fraudulent Leases
Praslinoise expect the National Assembly Committee on Eve Island Land Allocation to investigate with due diligence, reveal the fraud in this transaction and others along Mahatma Ghandi Road Eve Island. Once revealed, we expect these leases to be cancelled declared Null and Void for fraud. Secondly, we expect that the fraudulent parties will be charged for fraud and their licenses will be revoked. Finally, we expect these properties will be tendered out, priority given to the cargo operators as initially intended. Theirs enough land on this road for every cargo operator.
Next week I will look at the Vijay Construction land on Eve Island, positioned on the opposite side of the island, right next to the Dream Yacht Base.
