Christopher Gill is always thinking ahead of his time. This is another example. His plea will fall on deafen ears.

Relax, brilliant ,straight forward ,and execellent in his answers. One understand why International press call alway call on him and equally a prominent figure in Seychelles politics.Impartial and balanced in his words.A real example of maturity, intelligence, compassion, honesty,,,,,,an example that our politicians should follow.
As Mr Pool recognizes “we would like to hear from u more often“..i personally only want to hear his views more often, but be a motor, initiator together with spiritual leader, civil society to get Pl and the Opposition to humility, civility,in order to get them unite and ends their personal hate attacks on each other, find common ground and put the country first.

Short interview,but eloquent answers
In his, answers,Gill, raises all the concering issues affecting our country and People, and provide solutions for the way forward.
Apart from previous raised issues such as,the necissity of either a new election or a Coalition Government, that seems the most logic solution to have a government that respresent all Seychellois,he also raises the new desastrous trend taking place ,namely, Family Breakdown.

Family Breakdown could be a result of many thing combined.......poverty,unemployment. ...etc
As to Seycheles, thr main cause of the sky rocketing family breakdown rate,we seeing,is mainly happening in families,in which a family member is Hard Drug Addict.
Father or adicted mother, stop playing their family role, household duties,a parental duties,as well as economic family Duties. Most often, addicted family member, brcause of the addiction, cannot perform their proffesional Duties......they quite their job.Not having the revenue to pay their daily hard drug Doses, addicted family member, often ask for money from in anycase, the single working family member, when the money is not avalaible, voilence become the panacea.Hence Domestic Voilence become the norm and form of intimidation, that result in Family breakdown, with all its negative effects on Children, and society.
To reduce the family break doen trend, one must first identify the causes,,,,,,and in the case of Seycheles, thr causes are Domestic voilence due to Hard Drug,,,,,,,,down far below, due to poverty and unemployed...........but the main killer of family,is neither poverty nor unemployment, history and statistics, show, that back hundred years when Seychellois were poor, both domestic voilence and family breakdown were literally non existence.
Miss Sahra Michel, who herself has experienced the breakdown of her family, proposes that ,“A minister for family is setcup“Good proposal.Though,i think such,a minstty must entails other responsibilities such as Dealing with Domestic violence, children protection...in other words,a Ministry of Family, children, and social Development in close coorporationcwith justice minstry.
U could also have a department under the Minstry of Social Affaires, solely drvoted to that, cause.

It is clear that unless the government seriously tackle and deal with the,Hard Drug problem, which is Thor, cause for increadingly domestic voilence and thus oncrease family breakdown, let alone increasing crimed rate, things can only amplify.

An Articlecon TodaysNation, tels us pl has amplied its fight against drug trafficking by Repressions, and shows us a picture of drug seizure,on it ,90& Grass and 20& hard drug, and pl cals it a success......ican itxa failure, brcausexwexal know that it not Herbalists or Grass smokers families that havecturn criminals, prepetuating acute and regular Domestic voilence and facing family breakdown, but those consuming the Hard Drug ,Marengo and other pl thugs are importing.Repression has bern long before Seychelles even know what drug means, they have also used all imaginable repressive tactics possible, none had work.Be it Mexico,USA,Canada and many westrrn countries, all these countries came anonimously to the conclusion that, the Legalization of Soft Drugs,Like Grass,Hadhish is one the main part of any effective strategy to realy ..reduce hard drug, and illegal drug trafgicking, and, all have legalized Grass successfuly...they,seen a inaginable decrease on Crimes,Domestic voilence,Divorce....with months of theclegalitation law.Notcto say,the disperate nreded multi million of dollars legation have brought to their country.
Pl feels, aparrently shameful for to long brutalizing, bailing poeple for Grass.....that will feel guilty if it legalize Grass now.Wel pl,in the past teachers were convinced too, that beating pupils would deciplined and make them know what the do not know....time has proven then wrong,in fact,it was a child abuse than a correction.

His depth and insight coupled with compassion for our people is unparalleled.
Quite possibly the golden key to change is sitting amongst us and we did not realize it.

The issue Gill highlights is relevant.
The country is divided families broken society broken and Michel and opposition are just insulting each other and threatening to destroy each other. At the end of the day the country hurts and the people suffer the most not politicians. The approach needs to change . I agree with this.

Pl and the Opposition is fighting on which party win or lost, when zhe elections result shows that no one won or loose ,each party gained 50% each, which means no one was legitimated to rule.Instead of conducti.ng a new election so that seychellois choose their leader,pl and the oppodition has put their obsession for leaderships position before thecpeople.
In the face of the elections result and zhe mounting doubts about pl governments ability to resolve the mountain ofcproblem the country is facing, national dialogue is imperative for the country to move forward
It does not help the nation for pl and the Opposition zocremain locked in an antagonistic and intractable political rhetoric instead of finding a solution..
Bellingerence would not do anything to help the prospect of unity.

Let deize thecopportunity to make a historical decision. The citizens are in dire need of a new government.let our political leaders start the process of strikng common ground and mapping a way out of zhis chaos.

Tip toe~ing around reconciliation, bombarding each other with bushman tactics only create division and that makes both pl and the opposition part of our problem, not solution.
The fortunes of this country has been sacrificed of the altar of politics .not patriotism.Instead of asking the,auestion..what is good for our country?~~our politicians obsess with pursuing selfish agendas that benefit a few.
The government is broken, thr country broken.....only unity can put the broken pieces together............

50% votes each,means noone elected,it means collective responsibilities............collectiveness caould only take placecin a coalition,unity,cohabitation ,whatever the names,govt.

A Government of Recomstruction "

Amend constitution.

Create a committee of Reconstruction -reconciliation to deal with blunders and murders.

Dialogue is critical, we will go no further without a change in mind set.

The idea that a singular political entity can represent all our diverse aspirations is an unattainable fallacy fraught with the potential of manipulation. It result in the entrenchment of specific individuals with specific political motive and interests which works against popular common interests. This,we have learnt from Pl political hegemony of the last 36 years.

One country narrative to the Status Quo,is that we can no longer expect a nation that has Exclusive political structures to be a modern democracy within a vibrant economy. We can no longer aford any one political party to dominate the State because of invariably,State resources will continue to be abused to more entrench in vested interests .
Given this context, there is reason to believe that a Coalition govt.is more likely to be in tune with the aspirations of the prople and hence be able to unstil a greater sense of belonging.E,g,economic policies that a coalition govt would presumably be different from those by a govt led by a,single political party.Coalition creates the ethos of appreciating their differences and using them as,a strength, not as a weakness, but also creates the necessary mass momentum towards changr which we desperately need.Coalition will represent a much wilder opinion as compared to the govt that run as a single party. It will provide more dynamic and honest political system in zhe country as it allows voters to have a clear choice at time of electiond. It provides more continuity in administrations.

Last election, zhe electorate has given a verdict that is mixed. On one hand, they expressed a feeling of alienation and exploited by pl and being denied their right to deternine their destiny. On the other hand, they brought the Opposition to counter balance force, but not to be a single party govt.So coalition govt should be the middle between the two extremes.

Diversity in views,is not an enemy asl has been promoted by pl,but ratheir their friendscin aiding them to create an Inclusive and participativr democracy. We can only get out of the impass if we embrace diversity in our political views and have collectivr purposes.Coalition govt.will represent the true spirit of democracy~~it a govt of the people,by the people, for the people.Alliance reperesent aspirations of the prople It prevents polarization~~~Parties will have to compromise on radical ideologied and approaches tocmake decisions which are morr in the interests of the people. It will generate good faith in the minds of people, implement healthy policies .

Our politicians stand charged with dereliction of duty if they fail to engage in dialogue.
However, since both side is consumed in a bubble of hate,it seems unlikely that any side would make the first step for dialogue
Hence,l believe,we need a strong board/committee composed of neutral personalities, like Gill, spiritual leaders,Ngos, civil society to initiate a pro forma plan that would pave the way for the being of a dialogue between the two rivals....
The committee would also act as Monitoring Implementation Commitee with the mandate to monitor, and ensure agreements are inplemented to the fullest extent. It will be the eyes of the people and watch the dialogue, andcto inform the public.

Addressing political demands to thecpoliticians in this form(a kind of petition)will be indeed an innovative procedure in seychelles context,it will be,a landmark event on the culture of dialoguecwithin Seychelles and developing a common vision for the future.

Pl and the Opposition has put seychelles in a auandary.Division is,a death warrant for fredom and democracy............
Time to sit and talk.

Thank you for your vote of confidence. However, let us be clear, I am not a neutral person.
I am proactive and engaging with all sides.
I take this approach because the ideology of Sesel Pou Seselwa requires dialogue among Seychellois to resolve our problems as a people.
Both sides have abandoned dialogue.
This is not in the interest of the Nation or the People of Seychelles whom they serve.
Secondly, the results of the election make it clear, clear I emphasize, that no single party can garner 50% plus one vote any more to run the country.
Thirdly, the current approach we have which may have worked in early days, no longer works well for the people. Example, everyone has seen what has happen in the National Assembly. The institution has turned into a den of leeches and self engrossing people. They did not even campaign for James Michel in the last election. They could care less who ran the country since their pensions were guaranteed for life.
Most recently, we have seen photos of numerous MNAs in deep sleep on the job. The Speaker Dr. Patrick Herminie did not even have the decency to wake up these MNNAs. This practice has been ongoing for years, simply because the leaders of the Nation are not engaged with each other, or with the People.
Change must be embraced by all parties for the good of Seychelles and for her people.
Sesel Pou Seselwa!

Only with truth there will be reconciliation.
Only with reconciliation there will be unity.

I agree 100%.
In this process we need to establish first the will on all sides.
Secondly, the mechanism can follow.
Right now both sides simply are head crushing, ignoring the voice of the people and their will that we do work together. This is the will of the people. Anything else is Polemic Poison beware!
This will leave Seychelles a broken place for all of us, our children.
We will have become our most worse enemy.
Thread carefully and thoughtfully for we now all hold a crystallized Nation in our hands.

I amm calling on the rivals to pledge their suport for the proposed National Dialogue initiative calling for by Gill in order to pave the way for a serious National dialogue to resolve the crisis.Political problems needs political solutions.

Anonymous said...

I second this call. It is the right course of action.

Anonymous said...

Even thuogh both incumbent and the,Opposition share a mutual responsibility to reach civilize solution to the post~election crisis falls heavier on the shoulders of Michel and pl considering that they control all government institutions.Should Seychelles get drawn into a long term crisis though, both pl and the opposition will have to take the responsibility for the desastrous situation, for seychellois is,anxious to see a stable and prosperous Seychelles not a torn part one like our politician seems to want by their actual politics of divide, hate, selfihness and so on.

Anonymous said...

They are systematically dividing the country and people are systematically sending them all to hell. It is an incredible situation, that will destroy the country.

Court proceeding do not look too good for a Credible badge. PL has been exposed for running very very loose election process.
This is being polite.
James Michel should seriously consider what Mr. Gill has carefully outlined. It is a way forward and perhaps a way out for him.
Things in Seychelles, all things will simply get worse and worse now unless Mr. Michel changes course.
His attempt to bait independent voters will not work well with this generation.
We have seen this with 13 month salary which has back fired. Same with 25% reduction on HFCS house. Purchase already back fired since Preservans voters divided in half.

INTER~PARTY DIALOGUE
Multiparty politics is about competition~~but equally important,it is about seeking shared solutiond for the benefit of a country and its citizens.Effective and Inclusive dialogue between political parties is,an essential element of democratic politics.

Co.flicts, interparty strife and polarized relations between political parties can block a country!s development. On the other hand, political parties can pave the way for peace ,stability, and sustainable growth. This holds true in any society, but is all the more culture in countries that are undergoing major shifts.political dialogur can build trust and the political Will for change, both of which are critical to democracy where difficult decisions need to be made.

Many young Democracies have experienced radical shifts in their political culture and power relations as well as significant insitutional change. They often have weak legal and political systems, while fundamental reforms are often both much needed and highly contested.

This is where dialogue between political parties is essential to avoid Zero~Sum politics and stasis in situations where reforms is much needed.Cooperation between political parties is also vital to ensure democracy becomes deeply rooted, going beyond electoral competition.

Dialogue among political parties usually takes place within Democratic onstitutions such as Nat.Assrnblies.Yet parliamentary dialogue alone cannot always meet the need for genuine exploration of consensus, compromise, particularly in cases of deep divisions or a crisis of the functioning of country!s democracy itself. Thus more Dynsmic spaces of dialogue between political parties.

Finally, political parties are the primary actord and core beneficiaries of successful dialogue processes.Interparty dialogue mechanisms are designed to support political parties.Political parties are the primary actors and owners of inter party dialogue mechanisms and ultimately hold responsibility for reaching results

Why can!t pl and the opposition just get along,?
The current state of affairs calls for interparty dialogue and for the reonvention of politics by disconnecting from self~destuctive politics of the past and overwrought politics of the present, and connecting to a new politics of the future which transcend partisandhip.
This reinvention reauires several things:a paradigm change in prospective,a new approach, communication and a redifinition of the issues within a broader national agenda.
There can be no politics without dialogue.

Gill has been right all the way. Now,imagine the court rule for a new election, would there be a decisive outcome for one party or the other, that would, allow one party to have a reasonsble number of Mps in the Assembly to real deliver?i personally, think any new election would give a sinilar result ascin the Decembers election. That is if opposition won,it would not be by a big margine, dito is pl won.In the end, millions of tax moithaney would be spent to end up with a victor winning by a minor margine thus would not be able to have the support needed in Assembly to get things done.In other words, the actual crisis with be transported into and prolong in thr Assenbly which would only affect the country.
I support a interparty dialogue,it would be cheaper ,more effective and speditive.
All the rivals need to do is,they must see the intention to the crisirve in the es by sacrificing for the greater good.
They must believe in the power to solve political disputes andcwe encourage all sides to exploit all possibilities for dialogue.

There is no politics without compromises and tey must first of all,sek compromises from the ruling party by inviting the opposition for unconditional dialogue.
Bryond all doubts, the urgent need is to unite representatives of all political parties and establish a Provisional Coalition formation, for the purpose of instituting and surmounting the present post~elrction crisis.

Have you heard what foreign offices are saying about Seychelles these days?
Better listen up. It is not good.
Have you heard what the bishops are saying?
Ironically foreign offices and Bishops have one point in common-
For Seychelles to move forward, there must be dialogue and two players must both go- Michel and Ramkalawan.
Why must they go?
They two know this answer better then the Bishops, but the Bishops have made their point and they have good reason in their view for making it.
I would add Dyak Agathine must go as well. He is a perversion of the Christian faith and a disgrace to Seychelles.

The drama that is being played out by the two party leaderships has made the country a laughing stock of the world. It is turning out to be a very sad and shameful spectacle of weakening and causing a rift within the country.
Ordinary Seychellois are bearing the brunt of the crisis of legitimacy by the dispute post~elections.
Ram and,Michrl are ready to burn down the house doen,we,can not let them do that.

If they had a clue as to how to go about resoling the,National problemd then we would have probably given them the benefit of doubt, and let them try.But they, donot have the faintest ideas. We realiged that we are part of this, ship thatcultimately sink with all of us.
We have a situation where they are ready to burn down the house with hope of killing a rat but with everyone inside.

There is no doubt among most right minded Seychrllois that,Seychelles needs a,National dialogue However having this potential dialogue is,stuck in the bankrupt leadersip systemd.Seemingly no one is willing to take responsibility.
They seem to be both part of the problem.

Unity of the Nation is needed.
For this to happen the opposition must first unite.
To unite we must address issues that divide us, not ignore them,
Simple.
Those that ignore these issues profess division for their own personal interest setting aside National interest.

Thank you.

Seychelles will have to allow real political dialogue if it is to extract itself from the post~election crisis which it is mired.
In recent months leaders on both side of the aisle have, mysteriously lost their way.

The reason why a coalition government cannot become a reality,is not because it is impossible or unecessary, rather it will be becuasecofcindividual egos, misplaced self~confidence, political inmaturity capped with self~interest and myopia.

If the Opposition forces genuinely believe in construction or delivering a democratic ,united and prosperous Seychelles, then they must realise that there is more than unites than divides us.
The love for our country, the duty to care for posterity and the quest from genuine freedom and prosperity must bring us together.
Let not be prisoners of personal differences or retrogressive precondition.
Opposition unite or lose relevence.

Politicians driven by their individual egos cannot place National Interest above their egos.
These types of leaders are born to fail the Seychellois people in today's context of a divided Nation, facing great challenges that not one of us can solve with our egos.
Sesel Pou Seselwa, requires that we put our egos aside, impart on dialogue, learn to listen be compassionate, and start helping each other.
Failing this, failing to work towards unity, as a people, will mean we will stop growing as a Nation and perhaps the seeds will be planted that will end our reign over our own country.

Is homosexuals decriminated?no they donot, for they already fucking in their assholes....zhus exercising the free sexualcorientation. Is homosexuality more important the unvolved problrm of domestic voilence?Seychellois zhink no,pl zhinks yes.Should, any law aim at privilrging a minority such as homosexual in itself a discrimination of zhe rest of society.it seens pl by raising the issue wants to make a moral desease,,a vice morality acceptable.Seychellois not pl azheists, will decide zhrough a referendum.
