Second Round Seychelles!

Hendricks Gappy did an extraordinary job to announce the 2016 Presidential results.
Second Round!
All eyes were on James Michel, PL candidate who in January said to L'Express Mauritius: " In my country, I have no opposition". Michel later said: " knock out first round!" Michel garnered 47 percent of the vote.

Second place was SNP dropping from 46 percent in the last election to 33 percent. This should be an eye opener to the SNP leader ship who campaigned on the slogans: " The Time Is Now!".

Lalyans Seselwa Presidential candidate Patrick Pillay made a very respectable 14 percent show. While he did not win, or place second, he holds the " Ace" card in his hands. Pillay's supporters can determine who wins the next elections slated forDecember 15, 16, 17.

The time for National Unity is now. The time for Sesel Pou Seselwa is now. From today onwards, every party, every politician will now respect every Seselwa!

We call on politicians to rise above their clumsy past, raise the bar for dialogue, pardon.

This Christmas there will be no shopping trips to Singapore for anyone!

I agrree, national unity should be what quide all of us.
EC showed that they can act proffessionally whrn they want,,Dito,to t.he police. Now,all opposition leaders should re enforce the unity they built before elections........

Why Pillay did notbwin, his party has change thevway politics and elections were conducted so far ...........Ram alone would ,could not Win any elections alone,,,.....and without pillays and Asmbury,We would had gotten the same results as in.previous elections.
Pillay as candidaes pushedvothers to be provactive.

The margin needed to beat Michel is merely 300 votes more when you total opposition votes.
The message is clear, every vote counts, every voter counts.
Opposition needs to now be serious about first internal unity.
Next, national unity.
The vindictive words and aggressive attacks does not make a candidate stronger, it weakens him.
Opposition must act ultra responsibly.
Ramkalwan needs to lead by example, the results has many lessons in it as well.

I would like to thank those 500- 1000 viewers per day over the last month. We have had an amazing journey.
Always do what is best for Seychelles and her people.

At this point in our national life, the call for National Unity must not be a novelty, and political parties andcpoliticians can not afford to shut their eyes on this important call, because their must be a paradigm change in the way the affaires is done and how the people is mobilized. But it,is also important to state government alone cannot foster national unity,..it is a collective respondibility.Of course government, politicians, political parties can set the example and pave the way forward.

For the time since thec1977 coup,Seycheellois showed the way for possibility of achieving unity in what can be tagged the first ever, free and fair election. This is just to draw attention what we were able to achieve througth unity......though only a first around.

THE FEELING i got in regards to how seychellois distributed their votes, was like“we going to make sure that each candidate get what s/he deserved “.......In other words,Seychellois distributed their vote that no one literally feel a loser,,,,,,,,each one of the candidat e was given a piece of a broken WHOLE,and Seychrllois did so,iin order that each candidate can bring his,her piece back to reconstruct thr Whole calls NATIONAL UNITY,
No doubt ,togetherness ,will helpcus achirve more asc individuals,if pays to serve one another interests..It is a widexspread believe“that united wecstand, divide we fall“

National unity can best be promoted by having a“A UNITY GOVERNMENT of salvation. That is parties lay aside their differences and wotk for the common good.

Moreover,it sems no one single party has all the nrcessary talents needed form a government alone that would get us. out of this socio~economic emergency situation we in,......which should also be a valid argument to get poltical parties set up a Government of National unity.Hencr, representing the Will and Spirit of the people.
The candidate electrd the next President ,must see his Presidencial approval as surrogate measure of National Unity and Patriotism.

I agree, every vote counts......it means all candidates on the opposition must co.tinue,in a pro active manner keep being activevon the grounf to mobilze seychellois behind the Opposition contender for the final battle which would determine the victor.

'Hendricks Gappy did an extraordinary job to announce the 2016 Presidential results.'

This is the opening sentence of Mr Gills Blog. However, I do not agree with this entirely. Mr Gappy did a major gaffe whilst presenting the results. He indicated that PDM got in excess of 2000 votes which represents over 2%. This figure is grossly wrong and I am not sure if it was presented by design or by mistake.

Remember, most of the population who are interested in the results would have been up at this early hour to follow the results. Such mistake or 'engineered mis information' should never be allowed to happen.

Wavel should call for Mr Gappy to re announce the correct result with graphic illustration. This re announcement should be don on SBC at prime time, when all interested can see that we have been represented by a fake and weak opposition leader that cannot even get 1% of Seychellois support.

Enough of this mediocre performance from office bearers who needs to perform with full concentration and impartiality always.

May Seychellois remain calm over the coming days and weeks, and may the voters make the right choice for a leader that will unite and be fair to all bonafide Seselwa.

Happy did a very good job. A numerical gaff at 3:00 am was an error. Gappy corrected it in the morning.
We must not spend all our time counting sands on the beach, and lose site of the horizon and one we are standing on Anse Lazio.
This was perhaps the best election I have witness since 1992.

Give credit to where credit is due. This is the way forward.

Marco Francis was warned by SCCIr not to show any political affiliations. He has publicly backed the PL on Facebook and told them that a vote for the opposition is a vote against businesses. The chamber should call for his resignation ASAP. Christopher. What is your stance on this.

I am at Anse Lazio, digging Tec Tec with my kids for dinner.
Tomorrow I must file Notice of Appeal for the SCR. 1,000,000.00 case Ramkalawan filed against me and received a SCR. 200,000.00 judgment to silence Freedom of Speech.
Have a great week.

Mr Gill, do not cloud this serious issue with tec tec. You know full well Mr Marco should nit openly endorse any political parties. He should act professionally. Unfortunately for Mr Francis & PL , the young professional Seychellois can see right through these unethical schemes. This is no different than PL government inviting Mr Gihan to bring Ton Pats good name into disrepute. You know what, it is all these unethical, unprofessional schemes that are uniting the opposition. It is these schemes that are backfiring on PL. It is these schemes that will loose PL the 2nd round.

Mr Gill your freedom of speech has not been silenced. Its your freedom to insult that has been silenced, by the court. Quite right too. Hopefully, In this New Seychelles of National Unity, both, you and Mr Ramkalawan will respect each other, you will learn to agree to disagree in a civilised manner.

On Marco Francis, he must reflect and do what is right, given his open endorsement of PL. I do understand he is contemplating a resignation from SCCI.

On Freedom of Speech, issue with Wavel Ramkalawan, this is not over. We are appealing the case before the Court of Appeals.
I have ask make. Ahmed Afif to negotiate a accord and release with mr. Ramkalawan in the interest of unity as he put it in his speech.
It is also in the interest of Freedom of Speech that that we press the matter. An insult to a fake profile cannot be imputed to a real person, nor did Mr. Ramkalawan follow the procedure of writing to the Administrator to clear delete any offensive comments.
Gary Tall administered the sight solely. And controlled it 100 percent.
Ironically, I down played the judgment because of elections. SNP had it on the front page, Lari bazaar published it in full. David Savy was the first person to comment and support Wavel Ramkalawan.

With due respect, Mr Francis should resign his post from SCCI first, then endorse whichever party he wants. No issues if he puts the 'Ox in front of the Cart'

With regards to the court ruling against you, I agree Mr Ramkalawan and yourself should try and find a way forward in the interest of national unity. Hopefully, both you and Mr Ramkalawan has learnt from this episode and hopefully you can both move on.

As for Mr David Savy, probably he has seen the light and wants to endorse Mr Ramkalawan. Otherwise, Mr Savy might be a principled man who felt he was backing what he felt was right, rather than siding with wrong.

Seychelles Unite

VOTE SNP or PL

Agreed. Everyone deserves a second chance.
Mr. Francis told us he will resign. I do not know what happen afterwards.
