Stability, Stability, Stability

Chairman of the Seychelles a Chamber of a Commerce, Mr. Marco Francis has called on all parties in the upcoming elections to act responsibly, put Seychelles first, and insure that their actions, words, deeds, echo peace and stability for the small island nation nestle in the blue Indian Ocean, whose logo in Tourism Promotions was once : " One Thousand Miles From Anywhere".
Seychelles can hardly be considered remote or isolated these days. This little island nation has acquired a incredible reputation under the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce while Mr. Francis has been Chairman, of punching above its weight. Seychelles boasts having the worlds largest tuna factory that employs 1700 workers and they want to expand. Numerous five star brands have set up shop in Seychelles, and the Seychelles brand as a destination under Minister Alain St. Ange is now perceived to be the Highest quality island destination brand in the World.

Seychelles has become the Rolex or Louis Vuitton of holiday destinations. It has done this carefully with a lot of hard work by people like Marco Francis and Alain St. Ange.
With an unpredictable world economic situation brewing in 2016, Seychelles business leader has appealed to all parties to act democratically, respect each other's views, and never forget the need for stability in  Seychelles. This is first and foremost, if we want Tourist to keep coming, and if we want Tourists to keep choosing Seychelles as their destination of choice.
How we conduct ourselves in the next week , will be an example for all of Africa and Europe, Asia to follow.

Good words of advise. I would add if Seychelles wants to keep on flourishing the next government whoever wins elections should keep Alain st. Ange as Minister of a tourism. He is bring ing in numbers we cannot afford to lose. No government can afford to mis play the tourism card.
Meanwhile, I do hope you all stop fighting and look to presenting a round table to amend the constitution, permit a government of reconstruction based on mutual respect and dialogue.
Do not shy away from the challenges of Reconciliation.
The country is simply too small too micro for us to be fighting like cats and dogs.

Have a sense of personal dignity, and show the world observing that seycellois is a civilzed society and the bushmenship habits and behaviour might be unique over the african countinent, but antithesist to seychelles

All csndidates ,who want to serve a civilized nation like Seychellois nation, must inherit the same traits of civility, humility, and act in a dignified way............They are obliged to respect the rule of game which is fundamental standard and symbols of a civilized society.
Who dare not to respect the Will of the people, and instead want to inpose his personal Will on the peoplr, must be considered and treated as a traitor, and dealt with accotdingly.

Yes,political nstability and safety are prerequisities for tourism, even mere theat of events such asxpolitical bushcraftsip,etc,...can cause tourists to rethink their decition to visit a destination.
Recent history shows that the inpact of political instability on a destination!s tourism sector is both immediate and long ~lasting..Countries affected by political instability(Egypt,Tunisia,lebanon,etc...)inevitably experience a desastrous decline in the number of International tourists and tourism receipts. For instance(Receipt can decline even more steeply than tourist numbers as the nature of tourist profiled change~~wealthy ,security~sensitive segments are replaced by more price~sensitive, risk~taking tourists...the later are minimal in number.

On Mr St Ange
I will simply say“job well~donr“
You work hard, what for a remarkable achivement and accomplicement.Often,we tend to be short~minded and forgot the desperate situation our tourism industry was in before u took over..U brought it back not only on tracj but excel all ur predecessors who ocupied this ministry beforec u.And frankly, the only way to do such great thinks and greatcwork is to love what u do.Mr St Ange, many politicians have the obssesion to be love by their people, few achirved ths goal,,u ,you have it without asking for it,which typifies hoe much seychelois has apreciated ur great work.
YES MR ST Ange must keep his post as tourism minister As the saying goes;u donot change what work“Mr St Ange works, hence he can not be changed“But beg him to stay to perfect what he has done so far.Only a fool would think otherwise.
U guys,i an addrrssing Gill and Marco among others personalities in the tourism world.Yes Gill, you also must be thanked for being a motor,an active voice in the industry that has push forward great ideas on how things must go forward and for shouldering Mr St Ange all along the way,The way was stony at times rven rdky, but you convinction and determination has helped tacitly the achirvement of Mr St Ange.
To U Marco, not thr least,u havr propel the asdociation to a higher level, and yout leadership have galvanised thr industry, you need to be thank too.Great job guys.

China has just revealed a drop in manufacturing by -3 percent for this quarter, which is suppose to be a peak period in manufacturing as the Christmas season shipments leave the docks.
France has registered a -26 percent drop in Tourism activity in Paris, our main market, with a direct flight.
South African Rand is at an all, time low, making a holiday in Seychelles very expensive, when the Seychelles Rupee is at an all time high.
Our beaches need a serious clean up after a row of Dead fish and seaweed has dumped on Mahe and Praslin.
Cruise ship arrived in Praslin and we lost 20 million in revenues simply because logistics and protocol was not in order, hurting local operators in the low season.
Monopolies are threatening the supply chain of Tourism, posing a threat to the Seychelles economy, and the social fabric.
We have many problems.
Government may change or it may not change. Leave St. ange where he is ask him to stay, so we do not play STUPID with the economy.
Tourism is 60 percent of our GDP today. If anyone wants to mess with this, when it was 46 percent a few years a go, you may as well just shoot yourself.
Thank you for the comment above.

Sadc has arived, staying in five star hotel,,alll inclusive. It happens to be the same bushmen who observed Zimbabwe shameful election farce,,and thry same bushmen and bushwomen, whe declared Zombabwe elections was crediblt, free and fair....Completely another world to that of westetn proffesional observers.
Is it worth the candle tocwaste tax payers money to catered bushmen, hunters disguised as election observers?
