Politics of Division VS. A Nation in Self Destructive Mode

Since the second round presidential elections, subsequent court challenges by Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, as well as the lack of announcement of " any credible election observer report" - due in January, the Nation has gone into a mode of " politics of division" and with it in play, we are now in " self destruction mode".

If You Cannot Beat Them- Divide Them!
The first indication of politics of division that has surfaced after the elections is the State of The Nation address by a very mad, irate, if not irritated James Michel. He had spent hundreds of Millions over millions in the presidential elections. Allegations have surfaced that some of his supporters even paid key opposition candidates to not UNITE. Houses were built, in Preservans estate over One Thousand houses, but the results of the first round, made it look like home to neglected Corgate Estate. The people took the houses. But they voted for the opposition.

In the second round, they said the house is nice, but we need money too. Money was do shed out in bags by the millions. Then Preservans divided their votes, the district nearly went to the opposition. I suppose James Michel on initial review has every reason to be mad, irate, irritated. But on deeper review, we all know, with this generation, you will not succeed to buy their vote. They will take your money, and vote as they please. Why? Because they want to. It is their choice. They know politics is a everyday affair, not a once every five year bash!

Divide and Rule!

Failing to secure popular incontestable support by the people, Mr. Michel changed strategy with a vengeance: Divide and Rule!
First to surface was the mill tossing about the payout to a key candidate, amounting to SCR. 15 Million. Independent has written articles on this and promises future articles. We wait for the details to be published.
Next, was the fallout by Alexander Pierre and Bernard Sullivan. They shut down Seychelles Daily, Gossip Column and deleted all the articles on Seychelles Voice, a blog that started well, did not allow comments, hence you did not have a voice.
What the tantrums are all about are not important. What is important is the blow to free press , the blow to the trust and confidence in digital media and the opposition.
Affairs of a country, particularly it's political affairs is serious business. It takes commitment and it must be driven by Love for country, respect for others, respect for Truth. Blogs and pages that did not follow these precepts have all fallen to the side.
The closure of these sights, was like political manna falling out of the sky for James Michel, who was starving for some good news to his ears.

Self Destructive Mode

As Michel divides the Opposition, and the Nation, he will succeed in some early short live victories, worthy of champagne bottles popping at State House perhaps. However, what he does not see, perhaps does not care or give a thought to, is our country facing further politics of division will only continue in self destructive mode.

Deep Divisions Hurt

The division seeds being planted by Seychelles leaders today, will tear apart what families remain intact. Fathers, Mothers, Children, will be torn apart by this course set by our leaders. neighbors will raise walls, place dogs, wire fences. The saying: " it is wise to keep your neighbor as your best friend" will be tossed into the bins of culture.

Drug related issues have gone beyond governments ability to address them seriously. Where is the Church? Where are the community leaders? Where are the mentors? Who are the examples we have for our children to emulate? Where are they? Has division negated their value?
Where is our moral compass as we seek to preserve and seek power at all cost, even the cost of dividing this tiny Nation, tearing her apart, leaving her broken, shattered in 89,000 little useless, insignificant pieces of what was a proud, spiritually rich people gone asunder forever, never to be united but for greed and arrogance reign in the hearts of those who can make the difference.

Seselwa Unite!

May God Bless All Freedom Loving Seychellois!

Michel/pl has complied somthing of a “how~to“manual for National destruction.A situation worth treason. He has done virtually everything conceivable to ruin Seychelles, but, however, one stil finds signs of redoubtable spirits everywhere.Despite pl dialobic tactical attenpt to divide Seychellois remain brazen for change.
Pl has fallen from popular grace,as Seychellois poised for change, though Michel tries to hurken down in an extremely depressive mode, replete with refierce tools of divide.
Michel, desperate,in fear,is acting like Bumblebee~~~if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out.It never sees the means of escaping at the top,but persisrs in trying to find some way out through the sides near thebottom. It will seek a way where none exists until it completely destroys itself.

This is a criticsl time for the future of Seychelles,we must seek to speak regarding our positions,as stakeholders in the future of Seychelles on the diabolic divisive politics that persists in the country, which tyrannize the people and exploit their Assets.
If seychelles is to emerge from Post~pl one party elderly era, with enuogh strength to meet the chalenges of the future, politicians must seek reconciliation,a changed mindset ,that wil shape the Agenda.
Out future as a country is fragile, like a large Clay Pot filled with water, that many of us want to quench our thirst.Being fought by a few desperate Families who could all have a drink,if they decided not to fightcover who should carry it.Without ending there diabolic politiks of division, wecwil break the Clay Pot.Is it about defeating the enemy,or transforming the enemy regardless of cost?whatever it is~~for the betterment of everyone.
Many Seychellois believe they have already lost almost everything to the pl,so zhat they have nothing more to lose. This is a dangerious position to be up against unless all sides arecwilling to make concessions and share power.
Pl has the most to.lose if it attempt to continue to hold on to everything.Michel must understand that thngs will never be the same again~~~that pl entrapment was made simply because many people did not question what was at stake. This time is foregone pl.

Pl threatens by Generation Gaps~~Pl must realize that time for new generation had come, though sounded weird in 2016,given that the Expired generation is forcefully still incharge of our affairs today It is increasingly evident that dunset is nigh.
Today, more than two third of the pooulation consusts of young who were not born when pl raped their parents liberty and freedom and so forth in 1976.,Thecold ideas no longerresonate.Voter apathy for pl has been one of the vivid signs of public disengagement and discontent with pl onecparty elderly rule.

Each generation wants new symbols, new people, new ways on doing politics, new everything ...that the want to naturaly divorce themselves from their predacessors.,
Pl n michel must understand that he canot go down as the voice ofcthis generation, and he cannot be their loudest voice,.So different are the colours ofclife,as we look forward to the future,or backward to thecpast, and so different the opinions and generation gaps which this contrariety of appearance naturaly produces that zhe understanding of pl elderly and the new generation ends in disaccord.

Freedom, serms,is never more than one generation away from extinction.Leadership is not about the next elections, nor clinging to power, but it is,about zhe next generation.

Pl is not a future zhis generation believes inand neizher their small brains can inplement the new generations vision.
Do zhis generation a favor Michel,go home bobby,!Time to retire!

52.6 % of 2/3 of the population is officially Poor!
This means the system Michel has advance has failed.
The knee jerk has been blame the opposition who are and have not been in power.
The fault rest on Michel.
The reaction politically is to call for Social Justice.
Social Justice is flawed when what you call for divides the people, in half or more.
Social Justice is flawed when there is a non responsive government.
Ministers stop taking calls, stop responding to mail, stop interacting with the public because the issues are too hot to handle.
Social Justice today means breaking the monopolies that make Seychellois families poor .
Wake up PL!

James Michel has failed the people. Simple. The statistics put out by PL themselves show this.
Another statistic said 46% of the pulsation lives below the poverty income level per month.
That is a problem.
Free Health care is not worth anything to the ill if they are killed at hospital instead of healed.
Free education is not worth anything to the people if when they come out of school they are worse citizens the. When they entered.
Free bus passes are worthless if we only go in circles while tourist enjoy a round island trip for 5,00 SCR.
Free money for laptop is worthless if children play only games on them .
Free money for secondary school students is a waste if they use the money to have booze parties on the beach each pay day.
The moral compass of the country is twisted.
Hence it fails even if it is given resources.
This is the grand failure of communism in Seychelles.
Now it is down to decisions to keep power in spite of failing grossly.

Ask Mr. Michel what happen to his appeal for national reconciliation. Has he abandoned this?

Anonymous said...

MIichel has not abandone it,the fact he has never started it.As always Pl is expert in preaching .For pl Reconciliation is just buzzword,Likecwhen pl Preaches about monopoly but failed to regulate monopolies by simply introducing an ANTI~TRUST LAW...pl has been preaching about for decades about Renewable Energy, what we see is,Mauritius Bank taking the initiative and doing what pl should be doing ,etc, etc
Pl provide resources, tax payers money for this, and that....but these this and that are badly planned and managed........nor do we have a real control o. How money are used........or just creating the wrong things.Just an example...Pl has oil Tankers, which i am saying itcis a badcthing, however,pl while investing tax payers to built Tankers, failed to trained, equiped, the SCG or a seperate specialize unit to deal with oil spilling,at sea fire fighting unit.............it seems because pl has convinced itself“since has not happened in our history so fae,it would not happen at all for pl has convinced itself, that it ould not happen,God,Michel say so“ we licky that the South Korean Ship was not severely damage, cause them we would have faced with kilometers of beaches poluated thus destroy our tourism industry for decades, let alone the damage on the environment.Jt is,simply, unexplainable, how come that country with a so imense EEZ,and the increase of marine trafficks on our port still donot have such a specialized and equipped Marine fire brigade etc.... . ...Pl sent SCG and land trained firemen to deal with ship wreckage as if firemen trained and equiped to fire on land,is also specilaized in dealing wizh fire at high sea, which in fact are two different fields, each with zheir own methods of working,etc.........Dito to SGC.

Pl cannot implement Anti Trust law to curtain monopolies, who would sponsor pl?It seens,pl does, not even has a clue where to start with,in concocting aAnti trust law.
Here a few clues Pl what could entail in Anti Trust law:
PROHIBITED SCHRMES
Monopolization~~attempts of conspiracy to monopolize.
MAarket Allocation~~agreements in which competitors divide market among themselves.
Price~Fixing
Predatory Pricing and Bidding

Collective Bidding~~when two or more competitors agree to,alter their bids for the purchase/provision of a particular product/service.
Tying Arrangement~arrandement between buyers/purchasers wherein the provider will only agree to sell a product etc..
Price Descrimination~~where a provider charges competing purchasers different prices for same Goods(not service)etc.
Etc..etc.....Michel.

The sneaky language politicians are using to get away is unacceptable.Incitation of division, and the combination of political and social division is,a dangerous cocktail that coul tears the country apart and as citizrns,we cannot accept and tolerate such a dangrrous game by some irresponsible politicians .
Divisions produce inertia..Hate speech is dangerous,it promotes division and intolerance. It harms and marginalize poeople, thus a public expression of discrimination, prejudice the groups it targeted.
A society that allows hate speech to govunpunished is one that tolerates discrimination and invites voilence.Hate sperch has no reddem values,so,we,should never pretend it occupies a rightful spot in the market of ideas and have nothing to do with rational debates.

Should Civil Society calls for Criminalize the kinds of hate sperches by our irresponsible politicians to tame and civilize them?Free speech is not a sacred Cow,however,we already have various restrictions already accepted by society,e.g defamation etc....Why laws might be only one tool among many to fight hate speech, they should at least be used against most egregious cases.
PL has divided, inhibited the people of Seychelles.Fear, hatred, intimidation are pl weapons of choice, wielded without recrimination, compasions, and regrets........We thecpeople cannot continue to tolerate bushmanship and bushman attitudes of some politicians....we must stop thrm regardless who the hell they are.

SERVING OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM FROM TOTAL COLAPSE

First stepin govt sshould take is,Decentralize both management and healthcare services.Today, all main services are contrated at Victoria Hospital.....hospital has become congested and specialists overwhelm by having to cater and provide their duty properly.
Govt can remove the burden on Victoria Hodpital by transfering some services for instance,to Anse,Royal Hospital, the third biggest hospital in zhe country but provides mainly limited primary healzhcare services.

~REGROUP SIMILAR SERVICES under one roof. For instance,Genitouring, maternal, contraceptive, gynaecology, children medicine, paediatric issues are all related...
~Ears,Nose, throat, head, neck desease or problems are related.
~tropical medicine and infections, fungal viraletc are related .Hence ,all of each of these related services should be under one roof,a clinic, hospital,or by additional specialized services provide apart from general meficine by,hospitals like Anse,Royal now only providing limited primary healthcare srrvices.
This is designed to create allignment, collaboration, within and between the cure and care of related services. It will enhance cordination, effectiveness, and efficiency as well as eliminatong constraints, managerial uncertainty and wastage of resources.(Decentralize authority responsibility and accountability with appropriate span control).

RRDUCING HOSPITAL COST OF PURCHASING,STORING MEDICATIONS.
Govt can work with private pharmacies to provide certain prescriped medications to patients then paid by State.
How?A doctor delivers a prescription form to patient.Patient go toca private pharmacy ,hand over the prescription form to pharmacien, the later provide the drug .Then prescription form is signed by both pharmacien and patient(a copy of signed prescription form is handed back tocpatient as receipt),The original form is kept by pharmacy, which is then send to govt for payment.Note also, pharmacies would generate more revenues in such a deal, but that, also means revenue on tax for govt.In fact govt does not only reduce purchase, storage, and cost of wastage due to peridhablevmedications,it collects more tax due to pharmacies increased sale .

.
E ~HEALTH AND E~CONSULTATION.
QE~health:The idea iscto put everything from prescription to health histories in Digital Form.it is easier, rapider,to process, and share to over health services. For instance,a patient who used to go to,Praslin Hospital and has,all his health record/history stored in Praslins hostipal data, found himself at the energency unit at,Victoria ICU,.The specialists,at the,ICU Unit just by having the patient name, surname or district can go into a computer sydtem ,tip the patient names in,and within seconds get accept to thecpatient records. This allows doctors to analyse patient illness etc.. before any intervention or drug prescription...etc..etc.

E CONSULTATION
Patients generally 5minutes face~to~face time with a physician, through E~Health they have access to unlimted information,E~health techs to educate patient and improve self ~management skills (Intranet system). It reduce administrative costs.

E Consultation provides Feedbacks,..for instance planning pregnancy,etc... Questions and Answers given thus avoid th.e need for physical displacement to hostipals.E Consultation connects Health specialists tobpatients for pre~clinical diagnostic,to even E~mail prescription etc......
A Login panelcwhere doctors may log in to the sydtem and then see patient requestscfor consultation. The system then schedules thosecrequests and serves them to doctors one, after another. This, allows doctors to chat with patients and discusss their problrms. At the end of consultations thr doctor may send them an On Line(subcription),in a pronted word format and get medicines based on prescription.....the system will proved helpful to urgent, cases that do not reach hospital for premilary examination of patient.

Windowing Dressing Clinics like the one at Anse,Ablague,Praslin should be closed. It seves no purposes and just codtly to maintain. This empty clinic at Anse, ablague opens once a week to ptovide panadol to twocpatient onlx. Moreover Anse,Ablague has around 100 inbabitants and lies 5 minutes drive to Baie,Ste Anne Hospital......

Some solutions to fix our healthcare system
Decentralize both managrment and services, now privided solely by,Victoria hostipal. Some services could be transfered to other main hostipals such as Anse Royal hospital, the later now provides only limited primary services......it could cater two specialized services .
Configurate..regroup similar or related services under one roof.E,g gynaegoly, children medicine, maternal, prediatic issues under one roof....in one clinics .Dito to,tropical deseases andconfections etc.....or rehabilitation, physiology etc all are related then proivide related, and connected services undercone roof .
THIS is designed to create, allingnement,,connection, collaboration within and between cure and care, and decongest victoria hospital with over services,in order to overcome well knoen shortcomings,in the healthcare, services.

REDUCE HOSPITAL COST OF DRUGS PURCHASE,STORAGE AND COST OF PERISHABLE MEDICINES... .by allowing,Private pharmarcies to provide certain drugs to patients based on doctors prescriptions. How?Doctors deliver,a prescription form to patient .Patient go to pharmacy and collect medication.Prescription form signed by both pharmacien and patient(the later is given a copy,as,receipt)original copy is kept by pharmacien, which is zhen send to health mintery for payment.

E~HEALTH...all prescriptions, and health histories ofcpatients is stored in Digital Form.Itcis, fast, easier to process and share.Patients generaly have 5minutes face~to~face time physicians, zhrough E~Health services have, acesss to unlimited information...and make patients develop self manage skills.

E~CONSULTATION....avoid,waiting time whrn go physicaly to hospital. It is,a modern tech that connects health specialists to patients for Questions, and Answers,,,,,,,premilary, pre~clonical diagnostic.... and doctors can even,E~mail prescription on line... ..thus reduce, administrative cost, reduce physical hospital consultation etc......A doctor logcin panelcis needed where doctors, can log in to the dystem and zhen see patientsxrequests. This, alows doctors to chat with patient, and didcuss the problem. At the doctor can prescript a printable format prescription on line or ask patient to come to zhe hospital......

Use more,Generic medications...cheaper but same quality and effect as other same type of medication.

Mr. Gill is right 100%.
Look at the mess in Chamber of commerce and SHTA. It is totally counter productive.

How did we get there,Mrs C.Adel?
Do understand how pl get us with Excess Liquidity,we must first undertand the sources of the Excess Liquidity.Discovering and understanding the sources is very important ,if the montary policy maker has to attack thecproblem of Excess liquidity. My personal reading of the causes of excess liquidity goes as follow:
1)Government borrowed quite a large amount of money from ABROAD over the past several, years.Govt received quite a lot of Grant from abroad ...it feceived SDR allocations from the IMF(sort of an external grant) in 2009 or,so .The,Forex was sold,to the Bank of,Seychelles. All foreign currencies borrowed by the,Govt were sold for Rupees to,the Bank of,Seychelles. The Forex of bank of,Seychelles shot up:currency in circulation, too, shot up:
2)Central Bank credit to tune of multi~millions has been granted to the,Private Sector. If we asign a simple and conservative money multiplier of only, let us,say,2,then the Bank of,Seychelles has, condciously added double to the Excess liquidity:
3)In the past several years there have been lots of private Capital inflows in the form of portfolio Investment and a few,FDI and yet Growth Rates of the economy has been sluggish:
4)Are investors bringing in more,Capital than the costs of their projects! If so,why?:
5)The posibility of some smart players taking advantage of Interest arbitrage since interest rate on Reserve Currencied are lower than the rate of interest on Ruper Assets can not be discarded. This could be a possible cause for the,Excess Liquidity:
6)The ORR arrangement. by Bank of Seychelles/Ministry of Finance put in place for the Bank of Seychrlles to buy Foreign Currencies in order to beef up its Forex position. The Rupee counterpart of the purchases must be Huge. These figures are not released to the public,as far as i am aware.
7)Private Sector borrowings of Foreign Currencies have added to thecExcess liquidity:

11)The bank of Seychelles has an outstanding amount of investment amounted in multi milliond in Govt Securities,it means the,Bank of Seychelles has injected more multi~milliond (taking a money multiplier of 2),into the system. Why not sell the papers to holdersxof excess liquidity and thus mop it up if excess liquidity is,causing so much,National Economic and Financial Insecurities.Sure,Bank of,Seychelles will forgot interest income. So what?:
12)The silent insiders busy“ ,eating, cakes“must be,aware of more sources of the excess liquidity. They trying to cut a long story short:Will a Hikr in the Repo Rate help alleviate the problem of Excess Liquidity? I am afraid not in my opinion. There, are other ways of resolving this problem. An increase in Interest Ratr(which would make local Rate more attractivr than Rates on Foreign currenciee to bringcmore Forex to Seycheles and therefore more Ruper liquidity. It certainly would give more room for Interest Arbitrage.Even Seychelloischolding foreign currencies would repatriate fund for,a kill,if they have not done it already.

Moreoer, even if Growth forcast for 2016 is far from encouraging:Growth is,still in its convalescent stage.A. hike in interest Rate would be a bad shot in the arm.

What could be done to Prevent similar occurences in the Monetary Area?A fiscal Policy mistake can be easily corrected, but a monetary policy mistake, more so if continued for years is not easy remediable;it inflicts a series of distortions in the economy and in financial sector, too. This mistake can be remedied but at a high cost to the economy and society as,a whole.Take, for indtance, the present problem of Excess liquidity.Seychelles has a serious account Deficit problrm. This problem ought to havr been addressed by measures known to the bank of Seychrled. The latter chose not to because the measures, are not popular. One direct consequences of this grosss policy negligence is that Export competitive depreciation that the IMF avoids referring to,kept under ~performing and the deficit kept expanding.Economic Growth took a twist;the pace of growth declined and stayed at bust above.....2 %plus!!??!!!for some years. The deficit continued to widen and was financed by Capital inflows that kept swelling the Rupee liquidity in the system.
Worst, instead of tackling thecproblem ofcthr currrent account deficit, the bank of Seychrles/ministry of finance assisted by the IMF technical team camecup with, the ORR arrangement.Under this arrangement the bankcof seychelle buy foreign currencies on the market in exchange for Rupees that it releases in the system.Bank of seychrlles is noe excerdingly happy thst its foreign exchange Reserves have gone up and is at the same time exceedi.gly unhappy that it has released too much of rupees in circulaton that needs to moped up cost.It isvlike the story of kid allergic to sweet,..who sucked and sucked his Bonbon to finish and is now throwing tamtrums about his Bonbon giving him an acute stomach pain who will pay for the cost of mopping up the excess liquidity?Bank of Sey?Ministry of finance?Whorver pays,it will finally be paid out of peoples pocket.

The ORR intended to build the Forex Reservee of the bank of deychrlles was a deliberate attempt to refrain from taking unpopular policy action;papering the cracks on the wall was ldentified as the right thing to do.OMG!!!!!
The original dear baby, current account deficit is still with us.low Growth is like the ghost haunting us Worst, the country has become over~deprndent on Capital inflows and that is an extremely risky busines.
A monetary policy mistake or exchange Rate mis~alignment sustained over time is not any kind of mistake,.It isyan incubator for monetary truobles.

That what u get when incompetent govt creates abusive borrowing and failed to have well~thought monetary policy.
