STOP Scaring Seselwa. We will kick Ramkalawan out of office if he fails to deliver on his promises. This is what we should have done with SPPF all this time they have been stealing our money. We are 38 years behind where we should be today. We are dependent on IMF & Khalifa. Our leaders and the Savy & Adam Royal families have filled their pockets. We ordinary Seselwa have been moved from the mountains to konblaz to make way for the foreigners. It is our country, but foreigners treat us like foreigners in our own motherland. VOTE for Change, Bring Back the money, Stop Corruption, Improve our Hospitals, Improve our Education System, Stop victimising Seselwa, VOTE FOR RAMKALAWAN !

We are scared of Ramkalawan this is right. We are scared of his arrogance , lack of humility, lack of empathy and lack of sincerity.
Ramkalawan will kick you all out before you can say hic!
Name one single agreement Ramkalawan has upheld since 1991 with opposition opponents?
name one?

Addendum

After the first round elections result, I ask Afif to speak to Ramkalawan to drop the case against me in a gesture of unity as per his own declarations on Election Day results. I ask Marc Hoarau to do the same. No reply. Big man is too busy for little details already.

No reply. It seems everyone is already scared of Ramkalawan and he has not even made it to State House.

Instead, we must now appeal the case.

While the cause of change is is great, we are changing the bad and the ugly with what?

We are yet to see how bad and how ugly Ramkalawan will get. So far for 30 years I have seen nothing but arrogance.

Ramkalawan could not keep his promises while in opposition to other opposition parties for 30 years. What makes you so sure he will start keeping promises all of a sudden?

A leopard does not change its spots. What makes you think Ramkalawan will change his?

Anonymous said...

Mr Gill, you know Mr Ramkalawan is very busy at the moment. This is not the time to raise your petty issue. Ramkalawan hasbigger fish to fry at the moment. He needs to let you stew a little bit longer. In fact there is another newspaper editor that needs to show more respect to the real opposition leader, rather than the fake opposition leader. Let Ramkalawan win the 2nd round and see if he does not pardon you. The more you antagonise Fader, the longer it will take for him to pardon you.

In your above post you state 'a leopard never changes its spots' . You are full of contradiction by suggesting JAM & PL can change their spots !

Remember you were the first floor crosser !

Happy Sunday to you Mr Gill

Mr Gill you're most welcome to vote PL together with Marco & St Ange ! This is your choice and we respect it !

Anonymous said...

I will now remind you the arrogance of PL.
'You're either with us r not'
'We will never call IMF in'
'No one will loose their job at Air Seychelles'
'Si ou pa kontan kite ale'
'Mon en prezidan pou tou'
'Nou pa un parti violence' Who brought violence to the shores of Seychelles. Ask Fader whet happened to him and Jean Francois on 3rd October.

All above are a flavour of the real arrogance from PL/SPUP/SPPF

Anonymous said...

You cannot deflect your own arrogance, by discussing some one else arrogance.
Arrogance is arrogance, no matter how you try to mask it.
Christopher Gill

Anonymous said...

I would add as a Christian, if you were trespass against on Oct. 3, which I was the first person to write about the incident, you took money for it in settlement, the matter is resolved. By bringing it up over and over, you highlight the in balance of character and hidden vindictiveness that remains on your heart.
If I ask Jean Francois Ferrari about who murdered my injured father, Mickey a Mancham every day, how would he answer? Is it Christian?
Where is the perogative or Pardon?
The country cannot move on without Reconciliation. We are a injured people across the Spectrum. Some are more injured then others, but we have all experience pain by each other's hands. It is in pardoning that we humble ourselves as humans, as Christ would do. In doing so, we allow ourselves to move on and prosper another day, with positive energy.

Have you forgotten your way?

As you preach an eye for an eye, I regret that Pat Pillay started too late.....only. He would have made a great President of Seychelles.

As for Marco Francis- Marco has felt incumbent to resign from SCCI and work for PL. I respect his opinion. I may not agree with everything he does, but what option have you given him, when you attack him everyday? Have you not pushed him into PL camp dead center? Is this what you call political maturity?

As for Alain St. Ange. Why do SNP speak with so much hate and vile on Alain st. ange? Is it because he refused to be Ramkalawans boy? Is it because Ramkalawan refused to have proper elections in his conference? Is it because Ramkalawan refuse to be accountable for money in the 2006 elections? Later, he built himself a three level house?
What ever your problems with St. ange we must agree St. ange has helped Seychelles tremendously when she was on her knees. Who brought emirates to double daily? Who pushed for Trade- GOS regular meetings to bridge the gap from policy to reality?
Who increased tourism by 12 percent, 14 percent, 15 percent, 18 percent , 19 percent the last five years?

St. ange remains a good friend,as usual.

As for me, In spite of these two fellows being PL,, they are my friends. Why? Because I try to see the good in them, and I do not focus just on the bad.

I do not support PL. That is why with Ramkalawan I am sad: he focuses on the speck of fault on anyone who has a different opinion from his. This will never work in Seychelles, that is why Pillay is and will remain our best option in the line up.

Grow up.

The options before us is a vote for arrogance.
These are the options.
Neither is better then the other.
One has proven to be a failure.
The other will prove to be a gross failure.
Arrogance is one of those things in life.
It is a little bit like putting blinders on a Ferrari race car driver and then tell him to drive 200 miles an hour.
Seychelles is unfortunately in a very bad situation.
We must pray, seek guidance and humility in the hearts of our leaders who have failed us for years now.
Each Seychellois will have to decide what they want or do not want.

It,is,not anyone desires to descend with Ram into cesspool of quitter behavior to hurt filfh as,it is beneath our dignity Ram does so best.
But it is well~known, that Ram has and still seems to be the soul od avarice, though now,he is playing a little innocent lamb.

Ram wants to lead seychellois,,be unlike Michel the real man of the people. As citizens,,we are concern of Ram arrogance, which is sign of weakness and illuminance.....and believe me,seychellois do not want a clonage of Michel at the helm of the country. In the Opposite,Seychellois want a leader that, can listen, interact and deliver... ..To achieve later, leader must be humble to know that others may have better sense of the direction he should take....that is humility, not arrogance.Arrogance would cause ram serious problem......making little effort to engage in cituzenship and discount feedback that would otherwise help improve his performance.

Anecdotal evidence suggests zhat interactions with arrogant individuals can be uncomfortable and this effect amplified when the arogant individuals occupy position of authority.
You surely remember Jean Bertrand Arestide ,Ex Priest, who turn priest millionaire, and later President Of Haiti... He was distituted as President and threw into exile ,not for his mismanagement, ckrruption, but for is arrogance who turned him into a dictator.

WE do not want to face the same fate as,Arestide...we want him to succeed as President if elected.and i think hecwilll. But oncecelected,he would have to bury hiis hubris at the feet of Zomn Lib,at Maison Du People, once and for all,to save his days as President, else he will fall as fast as he became President.

The reality iscwe all want change. But let consider Michrl win......the fact is,the win would be so close that pl would be faced with an important Opposition MPs,zhat will make ruling by dictate literally inpossiblr, wizh the risks of facing people uprising.

Ramkalawan as the comment said " has big fish to fry". Then he will get to me.
This is pure arrogance, and an arrogant leader Seychelles does not need.
I am sorry Pat Pillay did not win, and people did not see his message of Pardon and message of Peace.
But the reality,is Seychelles is seriously divided. The opposition is seriously divided.
No one will force me to vote for Ramkalawan.
I offered a reconciliation, I was told I am small fish....it is not time to fry me.
We are not heading for an election.
With Ramkalawan and Michel budding heads like two bullies, we are heading for civil war.
Adjust your sails, remember my words, Seychelles needs to reconcile, reconstruct, not destruct.
Sesel Pou Seselwa!

His attitude is what makes him bury his hubris at the foot of Zomn lib.
Arrogance is a poison.
Simple.

Zippy said...

You brought it to the point, mate!

Surely, we don't want or need a Arestide here. I also think (or hope) that the arrogance will go. On the other side, I understand a certain level of arrogance, to defeat the most arrogant man in our little country. The real arrogant, ignoring the people who elected him is and was JAM - and that will continue if he is elected again. Glenny, Francis etc. pp. will laugh at us - if we allow JAM to rule us for another five years.

Anonymous said...

Arrogance equals failure no matter who possess it.
It can be Michel,it can be Ramkalawan, it can be Aristide.
The choice is for the people ofmSeychelles to make like Haiti made its choice.

Zippy said...

I am a business man for 30+ years. Believe me, sometimes arrogance protects you, I made this experience many times. Not saying that I appreciate Wavels (or JAM's) arrogance.

If we want a change, we have to go with Wavel - otherwise we stay with the dictator and continue as we did in the last 38 years.. Both are arrogant. It is easy as that!

As a Seselwa I have every right to complain as I feel. Michel has hurt Seychelles in many ways. I am certain he is not done. Few families can say they have been hurt more then my family by James Michel in the last 15 years.

What I am saying is Ramkalawan is not any better.

He comes from the same stock as SPPF. It is where his arrogance comes from.

Hence, I can safely presume, he will not be any different from Rene, or Michel.

One is a dictator.

The other is a dictator in waiting.

If you do not believe me, answer one question: How many electoral agreements has Ramkalawan honored since 1991?

PL has used the alliance contracts signed by Ramkalawan and DP showing how SNP breaks it's word.
Mr. Gill you highlighted this critical point. It is true.
The question is why should we believe Ramkalawan will keep his words.
He is already saying he does not have time for you, someone who has been at the forefront of the struggle every day for so many years even when SNP went to sleep.
As a follower of your blogs, I demand an explanation from SNP.
Who is going to trust them?

Mr Gill, It is me who informed you that RAM has bigger fish to fry. It was not RAM who made this comment. RAM is too busy trying to win the 2nd round. I am almost certain he can let you stew a bit longer, then pardon you as a sign of reconciliation which FAR & JAM has talked about but could never get it off the ground because of so so so many missing Skulls ! FAR & JAM will have to face the music if they want genuine reconciliation. As for RAM he was right to send Ralph Volcere packing. I am not privy of Elizabeth situation, but there is always 2 side to a coin or story. Let us assess both sided before we form an opinion. As for RAM coming from the same stock of SPPF/SPUP/PL, then, I must remind you that with an attitude like this you should not even consider Ton Pat. Mr Gill let us all grow up on the eve of this historical occasion. Let us take Mrs Amesbury advise and elect a new President through the ballot box. The next President should be RAM. However, if he dares show his arrogance, I will be the first one to contact you and apologise. I will also be the first one to canvass for his removal from state house. So, Mr Gill reflect well tonight and Vote Bien, Vote Ram !

You are like a mistress that demonstrates the arrogance of her master. Who are you to tell. Me. I shall stew? I have already instructed Frank Elizabeth to file the case of Appeal to DISMISS the judgment, because Ramkalawan is too arrogant and beyond approach even by Ahmed Afif who ii support, and Marc. Hoarau who I have closely for years. It is Ramkalawan who will stew for being arrogant.

PL have already posted the DP contracts mentioned here. The track record of Ramkalawan in keeping his word is disgraceful.
Coming from the pip of an SPPF, he is no better the. Rene or Michel.
He may as well sing " One Love, one Heart, Get together with PL and feel alright, you bunch of arrogant pricks.

Ton Pat came from a Democratic Party family under siege by France Albert Rene. The. Patrick Pillay was subjugated to James Michel .
Ramkalawan came from a hard core SPPF family.
The difference between SPUP and SPPF is as follows:

SPUP believed in Sesel Pou Seselwa! They fought for Independence and for the dignity of each individual Seychellois.

SPPF believed in raising. Force, arms, violence against any Seselwa to preserve the revolution of Jume 5, 1977.

Ramkalawans were not SPUP. They were SPPF. Wavel was born from the sperm of his father that ejaculated a SPPF son.

Today, he is SNP.

SNP came from parti Seselwa, founded by Ramkalawan and Ferrari with Dr. Ferrari in the back ground.

Dr. Ferrari has been alleged to have murdered Mickey Mancham my Father. We ask hi before he does, did you or did you not murder my Father? Embarrassed, they announced in 1993 that Dr. Ferrari has nothing to do with Parti Seselwa!

Now tell me SNP does not come from SPPF!

Mr Gill, you have tried to get Afif & Marc to influence RAM on your behalf. Be a man contact RAM yourself with humility and remorse. I am sure RAM will accept an apology. You and RAM can make the best team to get Seychelles out of this mess. It will not be easy for you 2 to get on, because both of you are strong headed. But you know what, life is never easy, just do it for the love of Seychelles. This appeal is to both you and RAM. Next time I get RAMs attention, I will make a special mention. But don't hold your breath as he is a very busy man nowadays. One las thing, can I advise you to look ahead rather than keep digging up the past. If we are going to rewind all the time we will never move forward. En Avant & God Bless

Comparing Union for change last rally at Freedom Square and Michels motorcade, the former did attract more people than the small pl motorcade,,,it was so small that there was no traffick jams, compared to Pilays motorcade rally before the first round,.It seem to me,The union for change has galvanized, bolstered, unite more seychellois behind them than pl........
Mmichel seems to bhave no doubt in his mind that defeat is coming. He has started to preach and in a way, calling on his supporters to prepare to incite voilence and use, means best known to thugs, namely, intimidation, harassement, and other vices to DESTABILIZE the country in case he is defeated,,,,,,,
Michel words to resort to voilence if he loose, must be taken seriuosly, and this invitement to violence by Michel, must be taken as a pre meditated act to resort to voilence, thus deal with as a criminsl act, which the police eould have to be prepared and ready to arrest michrl, the instigator, should he and his thugs try to bistort peace in this country. We would allow michel to commit his crimed of 1977 coup take plsce in the 21 st century...he will be stoped, aprehend and jailed.

Ram might not be the solution of our personal choice, but he is the candidate who earned more voters support within the various opposition candidates. As agreed prior to the first round..by All Opposition parties,....(it was agreed that the opposition candidate that come first in the first round, would automatically have the support of all other opposition parties, and be their,Common Candidate,to face michel).Hence,Ram happens to be the accepted and legitimate Candidate to face,Michel,so we should not make our personal decision, feel, about Ram,the motivation to vote or not to vote for Ram.Our personal decision should be of whether we want a dictatorship to proliferate and continue the mayhem it carries with it,or vote for THECOPOSITION candidate to provide an alternative to this country.By voting out Pl,though Ram might not be the solution we want but surely a solution that needs to be given a change to prove itself.
The reality is,this election,is not about Ram,nor the Opposition, but the peoplecof Seychelles..They are thirsty for change, let them make the change and choose their leader, and those of us who even donot agree with Ram,.....Should suport Seychelloisn achieving the change they choose...... It is about,Patriotisim....not personal personal feels,it is about collective decision,so let follow the mass.

Ram Kalawan will not honor any agreement. He thinks like Rene.
Agreements are made to be broken. Agreements are a mechanism of convenience.
Mr. Gill has ask the question that begs an answer: " what electoral, agreement has SNP and Ramkalawan ever upheld and respected?
None.
He broke every single agreement.
This is why Boulle fields his own candidacy every election, Amesbury formed her party, Pillay formed his party, SFP was formed, NDP, SUP has been formed. Everyone knows Ramkalawan word is worthless.

Anonymous said...

7:49, Ok suppose RAM will not honour any agreement and thinks like Rene, what do you propose we do ? How do we vote in the 2nd round ? Are you proposing we vote for JAM ? Let me remind you we only have 2 choices RAM or JAM. We can have a 3rd choice if we wish to boycott and not vote. I must say I am confused. On the one hand RAM cannot be trusted. On the other hand we have witnessed JAM reduce Seselwa to 2nd class citizens in their homeland. Foreigners reign in our country. Under JAM the escolars have got fatter whilst our prison population is amongst the top 3 in the world. Our young workforce lacks discipline and are either hooked on heroine or Seybrew. Under JAM, corruption is a perception even when Afif proves otherwise. Our old people are not respected with SR3500 per month. Our minimum salary is not enough since the introduction of VAT increased all prices in the shop.

If RAM does not honor agreements, which is a fact not a presupposition, he thinks like,Rene I the sense that words are nothing but bait, you have a serious predicament.
Ram will want to stay three terms. Has the opposition leaders limited his term by agreement with damages for non performance? No.
Ram breaks his word and is not trust worthy. Why has Pillay not been made Vice President on election to counter wieght Ram? Placing Mancienne as Vice President is like giving Ram a rag to wipe down his kitchen. What results will you expect with this formula.
Ram says he will name a PL Minister in his government. Why hide the ball with the people.
Ram says he seeks our pardon for his offenses. Why does he not apply that to himself? Duplicity at its best.
He is lying to us already, and he is not even in State House.
Now, name only single electoral accord he has respected. It does not exist. PL rightly point out in PPB that he has broken every agreement.
Michel
We know he wants a mandate to hand over to faure. Faure to his credit has no blood on his hands. Based on the last results, Faure cannot hold the country without reconciliation, and a gov. Of reconstruction, made up of all parties. If Michel wins, business gets back to business.
If Ram Wins, we are in uncharted territory, since his program on drugs assumes the economy will work. Guess what's. It is not automatic that money enters the country. He has not in the entire campaign tell us how will he increase the economy pie. This concerns me,
Michel has squeeze some business like mine, because. Nop pose him, and do not support him. I will say my family has suffered perhaps the most loss in equity value under Michel then any other inSeychelles.
This places my family between a rock and a hard spot at the gates of hell.
The rest of the country is in the same unfortunate position.
Why?
In the opposition, drug addicts determine the outcome not sensible people. If Pillay had won, we would be on a sensible track of integrity.
Now I wish you luck, wish me the same.

Like many Seychellois, on voting day, you will know where to find me. Our struggle continues.

What is unacceptable is an opposition voter knows Ram will double cross the Pillay team and others, remain complacent and say yes, go ahead with it.
No effort is made to provide further assurances that this arrogant priest cum millionaire will do any thing else other then break the agreements.
Boulle has been tricked by Ramkalawan how many times?
Amesbury drafted and signed the electoral agreement with the Democratic Party.
The Seychellois voter must not be allowed to be bullied into submission to vote for man that uses words to bait our hearts, lead us into false hope then destroy our hopes of unity.
Unity must be genuine. There are no junior partners when we say unity.

Mr Gill,

The constitution clearly states that you cannot change your team half way through an electoral process. We are still in that process therefore Mancienne cannot be replaced by Pillay. This has been explained time & time again. I see from the above that you will support lepep as JAM will pas baton to Danny Faure who has no blood on his hands. He might not have blood but his hands have signed documents that have led to victimisation etc..

You are wrong.
The Constitution provides for election of President not Vice President. Upon election, the President can place Patrick Pillay as Vice President.
You SNP people are dishonest, lack integrity and lack back bone to keep your word.i Patrick Pillay is the only possible counter balance to you.
The fact that SNP has lost near 10,000 supporters since 2006 election is a warning from the voters you should respect: you are not to be trusted on your own.
The Michel scenario is what it is.
I will not vote for Michel. He has harmed my family too much, more then you know.
If you knew you would not address me with such disrespect.
But what can you expect from an SNP supporter whose leader grabs his balls in public if he does not agree with you, or just lands you a punch.

Mr Gill, I believe our constitution forbids Seselwa who are born abroad to be President. Can you please confirm if this is correct. If this is the case, then Danny Faure cannot be elected as president in the future. However, if PL wins this 2nd round, they can change the constitution to accommodate Danny.

There exist no such notion.
Article 51 ( 1) provides in material part:
A person is qualified for election as President if-
(a) the person is a citizen of Seychelles,
(b) the person is not disqualified from registration as a voter under this Constitution.

This would not disqualify Faure to be President. He was born in Uganda to Seychellois parents, mother and Father.
He retains residency to qualify as a voter.
The problem with this provision is it allows Naturalized Seychellois like Ramadoss to be President. This is the greater danger that makes a constitutional amendment imperative.

Strengthening this constitutional provision will be in the interest of Sesel Pou SESELWA!

A Vice President is not different from a minister under or system.
After elections Mancienne can resign.
Pat Pillay can assume office as Vice President.
There is no hocus po cus involved. It is possible, it is necessary, it is what we want.
Take it or leave it!

Interesting point. If correct it is time for a Mr. Ramkalawan to start taking leadership and the art of compromise seriously.

Anonymous said...

The irony is the need to compromise is now the golden key for someone who traditionally was very arrogant.

Anonymous said...

Compromise has already started. Even Parti Le Pep supporters are now posting incriminating evidence on Facebook for all to see the real arrogance PL supporters.

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=920659314691956&id=899030200188201

It was a PL supporter who recorded this clip because he/she felt there was no need for the Loiseau Father & Son to ack and behave like animals. So this is where compromise starts. What is wrong is wrong ! Bravo to the Parti Le Pep supporter who has cleared his or her conscience by alerting everyone of this unacceptable behaviour.

So if we want to see real compromise, real reconciliation, real justice and real freedom, than vote RAMKALAWAN.

And if you want to see more corruption, injustice, arrogance and a divided nation, then VOTE FOR JAMES MICHEL

We know what Le Pep is. We just expect a higher level of conduct from Ramkalawan then he has delivered for 28 years.that is the point.
It is never too late for him to start.

Anonymous said...

6:53 are you saying Loizeau beating an opposition supporter is justification for SNP and Ramkalawan never respecting or upholding all the electoral contracts they broke with UO, SNM, DP, NDP Boulle?
Does the evil of Loizeau justify the evil of Ramkalawan because in your eyes it is a lessor evil and the means justify the end?
If so, what difference is there in the way Loizeau does things, compared with the way Ramkalawan does things?

Anonymous said...

The point of issue is Ramkalawan does not respect electoral agreements. So whatever he agrees to he will break those agreements.

Anonymous said...

Let Ramkalawan get elected, he will be a different person in high office. Anyway, the point I was making was a Le Pep supporter fount it unacceptable for the Loiseau son & dad to be behaving in an unacceptable manner. This Le Pep supporter posted the recording on Facebook is a sign of progress. If the Le Pep supporter decided NOT to bring this unacceptable behaviour out to the general public - then we could conclude that everyone in Le Pep are bad. This has nothing to do with Ramkalawan's behaviour.

With regards to Ramkalawan, we have to give him our vote and support. When elected as President, we expect him to behave better than JAM. If RAM fails to Preside up to our expectation, we the electorate will ensure he does not last 38 years in office like SPUP, SPPF & Le Pep. As a nation, we are 38 years late due to mismanagement and corruption under the PL regime.6:53

Let's vote for Ramkalawan. he will be a different person in high office.
Are you serious?
Why don't you vote for Joseph Gouni then. He will be a much better person in high office. He will instantly behave as a statesman.

Anonymous said...

How do we know he will respect the electoral agreement?
He has been breaking them for 28 years.
It is the reason why PL has stayed in power because as he broke them, the opposition would have internal fighting and squabbles.

Anonymous said...

He is directly responsible for PL staying in power. His nasty character, arrogance has fomented PL rule over Seyxhelles. He has no one else to blame.
I see this now.

9:09 Unfortunately Joseph Gouni is not a choice. We only have RAM or JAM as the choice in this 2nd round. So grow up and be serious with your vote starting from today. If you are unsure, then do not vote, stay away. If you are fed up with this system of 38 years, than vote RAM. If you are happy with this 38 years old system than vote JAM.

Caveat III: hardly a situation where either side should be playing tug of war. It will rip the country apart. It is time to seek common ground as Peter Rosalie has said. It is time to seek out Reconciliation as Denis Weihe has cried for, it is time to chart a course forward that unites Seychelles and not tear her apart.

The cause to tear her apart is strong. But the cause to unite her, work as one is greater. I trust the leaders will seee the results, see not their strength in arrogance, but contemplate their weakness as men, and conclude a divided nation is not in their personal interest or national interest.

Zhe opposition candidate asked for a recount, which often a normal demand when the vote tally during an election is close.Rarely, though it changed the outcome. While Gappy said he will gather on monday to decide on Ram calls for a recount,Michel will swear in tomorow, hence making a recount a waste on time.

While Michel is celebrating his victory with fanfare,bigband,......after hi hi pip is over Michel has come done to the ground,he rapidly discover the really, namely, that he has a Strong opposition MPs i. The Assenbly and unilateral, decisions, and yes men Assrmbly is over,,and for to succeed andcimplement his plans he would have to have the opposition dupport, else it will be hell for him, make it literally imposible to rule.

What amazing though in michels victory speech ischiscillusion of Pesce and stability...which is pure absurdity,...... listen tovmichel blah blahing about peacecand stability, one got the feel thatcseychelles before orcin her past history torn in civil wars, instability, and somehow pl save us for these mayhem.........What for a baseless case.

Both michel and Ram has lost crrdibily. The former once again failed to bring change he has long been promised, and he should make a reflection ofvhis future in politics. The later has lost thousands of votes compare to previuos elections, and once again, though with less effects, swear tactics allowed michel to save his ass.
The Oposition must now concentrate on showing their force in thr Assrmbly,,this will be where they can make a different in the coming five years,if michel unable to rule becuase of zhe strong opposition MPs in the Assembly, does not call mid term for another snap elrction,in order and with the hope of having a majority. The opposition should stay unite, learncform their defeat, intensive their present in a pro active way i. Districts in which zhey still have weak influence e.g Praslin,..and be active on thr ground all year round.
As to Michel, this will be his hardest term with the present of a strong opposition in zhe Assembly.......This term would be a change for Michel to show that he can work with the opposition and not a man with a vision,as he proclaimed to be in the past,we know the fatal effects his visions brought on the nation..he must instead be a man with a mission,.....a mission to unite the country.....this elections results show the country is divided in two with equal force.Unlike michel preaches, zhis figure show sign zhat might distabilize the country should one side lost patient.Hence,Michel can notcproclaim or label himself as a smybol of peace and stability, but a threat to it,for as thecelection result demonstrate....the country is more than ever divide.
Michel had a dedtiny with history when he took office zhe first time,,,he failed us,,This elections has given a last change to do good after bringing do much pain, cures and duffering to the nation. He can choose to be a divider or become a unifer,he could continue with bushmancraft or finally demondtrate statemancraft,he could go in history as a hero,or be a zero..This last change would changechim or break him. This is his last chance with destiny.

Ram arrogance is found in the 1300 spoilt votes.
The people see through him.
Michel is a crook. It is in his DNA, he crook to win.
Ram said opposition is 52 percent. But he polled 49.0 three percent saw through his duplicity of words and deeds.
He said after voting- " all Seychellois red blue green should dance in the streets after elections."
He said after results- " there will be trouble in Seychelels".

Elections were close. Both parties could win, and both parties could lose. One party spent al to of money to win. The other party spent nothing, hardly.
The stakes were high, you can imagine pressure was on Mr. Gappy to deliver.
Given the highly irregular activity at Anse Aux Pins, and Anse Etoile, and the odd recounting process that went into. Fourth count, the count must have been verified to the conclusive satisfaction of both sides.
This would have been the most prudent course of action, given the exceptionally unique circumstance we faced.
Given that the process was highly flawed, and prejudicial, evidence can and likely has already been corrupted, the only way forward is to demand a Third Round.
Since the country is extremely divided, provision should be made for constitutional amendments for coalition or gov. of reconstruction.
We must put hate aside, be smart. No side can run the country without disruption.
We all need each other however imperfect the prospects for Union are, we must seek a balance that will increase business and revenue into Seychelles, not destroy it.
As usual, I am happy to work with all sides to keep Seychelles stable. We must seek common ground, as Peter Rosalie says. The stakes are very high, but the winners and losers will be the people, not the leaders.

Mr Gill, thank you for your very wise answer. I fully agree with you. Basically, Uncle Jim was right from day one when he formed the first coalition back in mid 70ies. So we are 39 years late.

I did not bring back the past for us to be stuck in the past - we need to learn from our experiences and history.

During the campaign so many people complained about RAM breaking agreements. Somehow, no one raised the issue of SPUP raping the constitution and breaking agreement of the first coalition that Uncle Jim worked so hard for. All this said, we have to find a way of moving forward with a coalition of PL and Linyon Sanzman. No way can Seychelles move forward with a 50/50 divide.

JAM has to rise to the occasion and make this happen. He is the one in charge, he is the one in a position to extend the hand of goodwill. Its no good him sitting Mr Pierre of PDM next to him. This is just a joke and a farce to make us believe PDM represents the opposition. Mr Pierre should have not even attended the ceremony. But if he was really hungry for some tea and cakes he should have sat himself on the last row.

Michel looks lost with the situation on hand. His fake opposition (PDM) will not be able to come to his rescue. This latest election has already cost JAM a lot of money, over 100 million. Businessman and foreign backers cannot keep funding such large amount every month, especially when the results are so poor for JAM. When comparing the results, despite using 'steroids' JAM could hardly make it over the finishing line. In fact he failed miserably if you count against vote casts as per our constitution. With hardly any financial backing, RAM delivered an outstanding result. I of 1 businessman who want to extract himself from lepep. In his own words, this horse is too old to back. We need change '

Anonymous said...

They spent well over 100 million, maybe half a Billion, when you include state resources used in the election.
It shows you austerity applies only to the business community. Not to the government.
I am genuinely concern that JAM will not have either the intellectual or emotional ability to engage with the opposition.
He will likely manipulate the judges, use tear gas, guns as a response to any disruption.
The seeds of instability has been planted if he does not diffuse the situation.
The negative reports on Seychelles are coming in every day. It wil

The best option as Gill said,is to go for a third round, for this amendment must be done,so the Supreme Court can provide a real solution by calling for a new election mid next yearscwith proffesional western election observers. It would be costly, but i am convinced that five years more with pl would cost much more than what we have to spend on elections, created by corruption, foreign debt adfiction of pl,patronage, wastage, robbery, embezzlement and economic failures

Anonymous said...

The fundamental point is the country remains divided and given the dubious results, a slight .01 advantage, Mr. Michel now lacks Moral Authority to run the country with a firm hand. He will likely be subjected to continuous pressures of street protests at State House, rallies, and calls for him to agree to 3 rd Round.
He does not have a firm majority as he had in the past.
This is a good a time as Ever to start dialogue for a more cooperative agenda that is inclusive, since PL has the habit of victimizing their opponents and lending a favorable hand to their supporters. In between the fear factor mops up resistance.
The national stability is at stake. With this the prosperity and progress the people expect.
