Seychelles Crosses The Floor!

Politicians in this elections are frustrated over Seychelles crossing the floor, abandoning their parties, sending their leadership packing, with the crabby eyes and Six month pregnant pot bellies. The shake up in traditional parties is daunting today, and getting to the point where it is not controllable for traditional parties.

Why Cross The Floor!

A party member crosses the floor ( abandons his part, sends them packing) when a member comes to the conclusion that his party is NOT the party that can deliver the goods in the National interest.

A party member crosses the floor and does the brave thing and the right thing, for his people, when he sacks his party. It places the world on Notice, that there are deep rooted problems in a party, these problems have not been resolved, cannot be resolved because the leadership is not flexible, un democratic, lost in his own World.

PL People Crossing The Floor

In the political broadcast last night, PL Vice President, approved a broadcast, highlighting that crossing the floor is an irresponsible act. I beg to differ. Crossing the Floor, is an issue that takes great courage, great timing, the decision remains, always, the sovereign right of each individual voter and citizen. It means the citizen is above the politician, he is above a failing non responsive party apparatus, he is above victimization in his own party. As great philosophers from Aristotle to Gandhi will impress, the individual is the foundational stone of every true democracy. Mess with the individual, you will get " Cross The Floor".

This is what we are seeing in PL today. The list is long, but the brave coming forward are the likes of : Patrick Pillay, Simon Decommarmond, William Herminie, Noella Alexander, Jean Frnacois Ferrari. PL sights fault in every occasion in these people. There are fault in all of us, it is our human condition. The better approach, would be not to seek fault, but rather, seek common ground, seek dialogue from a point of mutual respect, to move the country forward.

Senir Plume Party

I have refrained from commenting on the Senir Plume party to allow it time to register its case to the Nation. To date, I am highly disappointed. My advise to all " Freedom Loving Seychellois" who love Seychelles, quest for Democracy, quest for " Sesel Pou Seselwa", is to ignore Senir Plume. Ignore them because they have yet to place a responsible and serious realistic agenda forward for Seychelles. These newly declared politicians have not " Crossed The Floor"- they are " Crawling Under The Table".......Not To Be Trusted!

Sesel Pou Seselwa!- Trust Me!

May God Bless All Freedom Loving Seychellois!

Crossing the floor is not new to Politicians, we seen it in Seychelles and different part of the world including USA when Reagan a Democrat could not win, then he switched to the Republican to become the next President. In Seychelles is a bit the contrary.Like it or not Mr Gill was one followed by Carpin,Pierre and so on.The list are long but everyone knows it! Every time there is an election we gather to make forces to elliminate PL, however some switched the last minites to PL camp just to get brain washed with some extra money!Believe me it will happen again because it is SESEL SA! You will see more ADAKADABRA AND HOUDINI near a theater near you! Sesewa wake up my people 39 year is enough, think of the future of your family next generation!

I believe Ramkalawan who came from SPPF formed Parti Seselwa crossed the floor there, them crossed again into OU them Crossed into SNP now he has crossed into LDS will have a similar fate as Mancham when the LDS leadership realizes he has deep personality issues unresolved, that prevent him from converting support into a peaceful political transition.
It will be up to the LDS leadership to take courage to ask Ramkalawan to step down, step aside, to allow Seycyelles to move on peacefully.
Mr. Michel has said if Ramkalawan steps aside, he will resign.
We count on the LDS to retire this incredible lorgay man.

Michel said if RAm step aside he will resign...........then lets get RAM out now......As Michel he has tool long impede change .........let us move forward by getting both Michel and RAM to retirememnt..........Seychellois cannot be hostages of two men...

I agree with you 100%.
RAM must go. His dialectical views of politics, have no place in Seychelles today which has become a complex equation.
RAM wants to make Seychelles a race based divided society as clearly highlighted in his letter to the Tamil community.
This is unsustainable.
Michel for his part is physically tired, his body and mind are giving in to pressures.
Realistically, our debt is now at $ 1 Billion total, higher then when Michel took office.
We need a fresh start. The worse is yet to come, we cannot move forward with these two political relics.

I agree with all of you however as for NOW we all need to stick with Ramka like-it-or-not, because WE created this boiling pot. The BIG question is IF they win the assembly can they work together? They look so rosy and macho on the stand, wonder if they can work side be side latter. Not to forget,WE all need to give RAMADOS a pat on the back!

No body has to stick to Ramkalawan for convenience this shows the LDS has no back bone! Surely this cannot be possible.
Granted elections are not far.
Remember Ramkalawan is advocating a Nationnrun under the laws of Tamil God Rama.
LDS Has many leaders. They need to sideline Ramkalawan end of story. I will repeat it for five years if you do not understand this.
Ramkalawan is not to be trusted.

To JP
We expect endorsements from opposition. This is normal in a democracy. Individuals will change allegiance from time to time.
The more important item on the agenda is for this nation to initiate dialogue to resolve our growing problems. Our drug problem is real, our economic mishaps are real, we must dialogue as a nation and be mature in our approach. Sous sing out endorsements under dubious circumstance only widens the divisions and turns the politics of Seychelles into a bit of a circus.lets be more mature in this day and age.

Very soon Seselwa will be going to the ballot box to elect their respective member of the assembly however none of them know the what their candidates can do.Just like voting for the cutest flower pots. ECs should set up debate between each other so the people can decide and not play music on the stage to entertain the crowd! There are lot of undecided and those votes will end up spoiled! OOPs.. never mind Gappy is still there and will never change!

Undecided voters should vote for the lead opposition with the tacit condition A serious campaign to remove Ramkalawan will be initiated by Boulle , Pillay, Amesbury after elections.
If not, LDS will implode.

So it will be a repeat of Coalition between JIMBO and FAR. Back to square one. This will takez another 39 years....now I know where the word REVOLUTION come from.
I keep forgetting it is Sesel Sa. What you stated might and will happenz. Mr Gill willz agree with you and me on this issue!!

Monsieur Gill I know you are 100% behind StAnge but I will ask you a personnel question, will you support an LDS candidate in your district this coming election? As for me I am still undecided in my Cascade district. Deco is like old octopus streching his arm in the air as high he can and providing nothing new to the Cascadian. If LDS could have this doctor Gedon it will be a final nail in Lepep coffin.

If the LDS wins the majority in the assembly election, will there a change in the Speaker position with the gavel? If so now is the time to impeach the President and the PL thugs for the corruptions of 39 years. Sure Affif is working on this since he knows very well inside out-

I have been absent for a week, reading the above I cannot help notice that Gill is there to ferment the 'Divide & Rule' strategy for PL. As much as I admire a lot of your blogs, this is not the time to divide LDS ! You cannot stand the fact that RAM will always be more popular than you. RAM has got the people of Seychelles at heart. HOWEVER, it seems you have your own personal agenda at heart ! Adieu PL, Adieu Mr Gill !

I proposed the LDS candidate in my district to the LDS leadership.
I support LDS at this time. It is made up of many excellent people.
However, I will never support Ramkalawan as a leader of any political party.
The letter to the Tamils was written by Ramkalawan not PL.
There is no hidden agenda, just calling it what it is.
We will deal with it in more detail after the elections.

You personalize an issue that is NATIONAL.
Using your own words, Ramkalawan " forked" all of Seychelles with the infamous "Letter To The Tamil Community".
I personally could not believe he wrote this in December. I refused to accept it, even though it rest in front of me.
When he admitted to writing it, and said nothing of it, in court, before the Constitutional Court, I was rightfully adhered, that an Anglican priest, a leader, would introduce Sectorial division and politics into Seychelles. As Justice a Twomey correctly said, it is " repulsive".
Striking his name from the voters list may be harsh, but ordering him out of polio trial party participation would have been very reasonable.
We are too late in elections to tell with this matter. However, after elections, this man needs to be removed from politics to keep the opposition viable. Failing that, the Tamil football team will run the opposition.

On the comment on St. Ange.. I take St. ange no different then Ramkalawan in as much as he is a Seychellios. If st. Ange does good, we must recognize it. If he does bad we must expose it. So far he has done mostly good, unfortunately, I have yet to be given a name of the person who can re place him. Ramkalawan on the other hand has a whole list of names of credible people, who can replace him, and deliver a stronger, more serious opposition that can make a transition in power, peacefully, without destroying our economy, and the lives of our people.

Sesel Pou Seselwa! Yes or No?

A simple question.

Hey Mr.Gill I think all or most Politicians do that during an election period.
Remember Monsieur the Legendary France Albert Rene with his slogan "Seychelles Pour Seychellois"....till now his Party is still hanging by a thread! Ram said he will go PLANT BANANE ...until now we are waiting the the banana! Jam,not too long he stated the we in Seychelles plant FISH....until now not a single sprout! ....well maybe its somewhere because PL like to surprise voters just before election! The list are long!

YES, SESEL Pou Seselwa.

Senyr Plim.
