Rupert Simeon Insults All Praslin Community in SIB Forum

When good, hardworking men and women are down, out of luck, having a tough time, making ends meet, face a tough ruthless business environment, a government that cares for its people, will lend a hand, give some solid real advise, help good people up.......not kick them in the balls and have a good laugh.

A Kick in The Balls For Praslin

This week SIB held a business forum, led by Rupert Simeon. Instead of lending a hand, to up lift hard working men and women of Praslin, Mr. Simeon, decided to kick them in their balls ( figuratively) and make their walk just a little harder, and longer with his insults.

Praslin Faces Monopolistic Practice

Unknown to Mr. Simeon, but highlighted by those attending the business forum, Praslin Island is facing a severe economic downturn caused directly from monopolies in practice. These monopolies are in the construction industry, the supermarket industry, the tourism Industry.

The vertical and horizontal integration of a few companies have made entry into business and survival, virtually impossible for any new player. The island is facing an economic and financial lock down and lock out.

Mr. Adrian Uzice Speaks Out!

Mr. Adrian Uzice, a boat charter operator, attended the loan financing brief presented by Mr. Simeon. He ask Mr. Simeon a simple question: " If I borrow scr. 400,000.00 to purchase two outboard engines, to solve my mechanical problems with my existing machines, how will I pay back the loan with a monopoly in place and ( cartel by Destination Management Companies , like Mason's Travel, and Creole Travel - who operate boats for excursion with over 400 person capacity).?

Mr. Simeon replied: " If you are in business for Ten years, and you cannot make it work, you have failed, go do something else".

This statement, directed to Mr. Uzice, was callous, insensitive to the realities on Praslin today,

If we follow Mr. Simeon' s instructions, Christopher Gill will have to shut down Iles Des Palmes, William Rose will have to close down his ferry business, Luc Grandcourt will have to go bait his hook with Lapo - Cabo , most of Praslin including Lemuria that sells rooms for euro 175.00 will have to close down.

Fishermen toiling for 25-35 years, looking for ice will have to stop fishing.

Mr. Simeon sounded like a Plant for Lalyans Seselwa in the JJ Spirit line up. He literally destroyed the credibility of the ruling government before the people of Praslin.

Close SIB Down Now!

Government is wasting more money with Rupert Simeon and SIB. SIB gets a budget of Eight a million toupees what does it do for Eight Million toupees per annum? nothing.
Today we have a engaged minister of investment. He can handle the dossier of Rupert Simeon and we can save Eight Million Rupees a year. In Ten years, that is Eighty Million.
Fire Rupert Simeon Now!
Praslin Demands it.
Then Mr. Uzice can offer him a job baiting hooks for Tourists, if he can do that.

Are Drugs being used to fund political interests in Seychelles?

The latest US State Department report on international narcotics trafficking links drug trafficking in Kenya with political campaigning.

Specifically the report says:

"Kenya is a significant transit country for a variety of illicit drugs, including Southwest Asian heroin and South American cocaine, with an increasing domestic user population … Stemming this flow of illicit drugs is an enormous challenge. Drug trafficking organizations take advantage of corruption within the Kenyan government and business community. Proceeds from drug trafficking are used to further fuel the corruption of Kenyan institutions, adversely impacting the lives of Kenyan citizens far removed from the drug trade. Drug barons use proceeds to contribute to political campaigns and to buy influence with government officials, law enforcement officers, politicians, and the media." [Extract]

International Narcotics Control Strategy Report (INSCR March 2015)

This is a shocking revelation, particularly the nexus between politics and drug barons which undermines the very fabric of society and threatens democracy. The strongly worded US Report makes no reference to the Republic of Seychelles, presumably because the scale of trafficking for transit does not merit attention, but given the close trafficking links between Kenya and Seychelles the question is a valid one.

Are there signs emerging that drug trafficking is connecting to Seychelles political activity?

Last month the Seychelles police intercepted an importation of 35 kilograms of high-purity heroin being trafficked into Seychelles. This attempt to traffic heroin is a matter of singular significance for Seychelles in terms of scale and timing.

The scale is simply unprecedented and the authorities are at something of a loss to understand and explain its true significance. Reliable external sources suggest that heroin in normally smuggled into Seychelles in packages of one or two kilograms at most. The scale of the thirty-five kilograms intercepted is completely unprecedented in Seychelles experience and is estimated to represent between six and twelve months supply for the entire consumption of heroin for the small island state. In financial terms, it represents a street value of five to six million US dollars.

Who could fund importing such an amount of heroin in a single consignment?

Why was it worth risking a relatively huge investment in a single consignment?

The answers may lie in political developments in Seychelles.

It is significant that the timing of the importation of the heroin coincides with the electoral cycle and that the six to twelve months worth of supply would pretty much guarantee a money flow and narcotic supply throughout the entire forthcoming political campaign. There must be elections in Seychelles no later than the end of the first quarter of 2016.

The timing of this attempt to smuggle a huge supply may be even more significant because it coincides with a split in the ruling political party and the emergence of a splinter group ultimately believed to be organised by the former President’s wife, Sarah Zarqani Rene. She is a very close friend and colleague of the leader of the new party, Patrick Pillay, who referred to her as still being very close when he launched the party. Mrs Rene and her daughter Ella have been actively campaigning for the new party in the run up to its official launch.

North Korea Claims to be The First Country to Land a Man on the Sun...

THE STATE News Agency of North Korea has confirmed today that the country has become the first in the world to ever land a man on the sun.
It reported that astronaut Hung Il Gong left for the sun on a specially designed rocket ship at approximately 3am this morning.
Hung, who traveled alone, reached his destination some four hours later, landing his craft on the far side of the lonely star.
“We are very delighted to announce a successful mission to put a man on the sun.” a North Korean central news anchor man said on a live broadcast earlier. “North Korea has beaten every other country in the world to the sun. Hung Il Gong is a hero and deserves a hero’s welcome when he returns home later this evening.”
The specially trained astronaut is expected to return back to earth at 9pm tonight, where he will meet his uncle and supreme leader Kim Jong-un.
It is understood that the 17-year-old ‘space explorer’ traveled at night to avoid being engulfed by the suns rays, and that this genius approach has brought the soviet state to the top of the global space rankings.
While on the sun, Mr. Hung collected sun spot samples to bring back to his supreme leader as a present.
The 18 hour mission is already being called the ‘greatest human achievement of our time’ by the North Korean central news agency.

PL No Longer Controls The Minds of Seychellois: Fear Era Over

Last week we broke the story of a skull unearthed at "H - Resort, Beau Vallon"a Dubai investment venture. The supervisor of the gardening crew ordered the that the human skull be re buried into the ground at another location. The act of course disrupted a crime scene and this in itself is a criminal offense, but the Seychelles Police are grappling with another bigger issue: there credibility. It seems the Public and citizens have taken matters into their own hands to expose the crime scene, unearth bullet casings themselves, before even the Police got on the job.

PL Losing Control

PL attempt to control this scene failed badly, if anything, it showed PL today, controls little at all. The digital media is holding them accountable and the discovery of who many suspect is the skull of Alton Ah-time, gone missing in the one party state. What is remarkable, is how everyone has crossed the hurdle of fear and intimidation in this case. Miss Duval a former SPPF has become a hero in her own right. Congratulations for your bravery.

We pray this man and his family, will one day find peace and he may finally rest. When he rests Seychelles all generations will rest a little more then before.

Pat Pillay Fever

Patrick Pillay and his band of former ministers and principal secretaries are also on the move. They were part of the corruption James Michel says. David Savy debates with Ahmed Afif on Facebook, over who failed Seychelles. This is all healthy dialogue and it is a revolution in itself. The impact of this revolution is yet to be felt.

Michel Stays Silent

This week, in " A Moment With The President" James Michel turned up two weeks early to answer questions, but he stayed silent on the Pat Pillay blow out! Each day Michel stayed silent Pillay grew in force, prowess, regardless of not being organized. Michel, this is the real deal. It is time to wake up and get to serious work. The era of photos props etc... Little visits just do not cut it anymore, when people are suffering from corruption, high taxes, big MONOPOLIES that have grown under your leadership.

Our biggest political problem is corruption, corruption, corruption. Bit our biggest economic problem is MONOPOLY, MONOPOLY,MONOPOLY!

Time to wake up!

Tourism promotion with success as Seychelles carnival makes cover page of May 2015 edition of European magazin

Success is easy to take for granted, but the tireless efforts by the Team at the Seychelles Tourism Board to keep Seychelles visible in the four corners of the world is no easy feat at all. One of their success stories in achieving visibility for the Seychelles islands and in so doing it tourism industry is the island's annual Carnaval International de Victoria.

With over one hundred press houses having travelled to Seychelles to cover the 2015 edition of that carnival that was held from the 24 to the 26 of April the coverage coming out is no less than amazing. BBC television has already started to air its footage on the different stories filmed as they were in Seychelles. Articles in most major tourism source markets for Seychelles have started appearing with positive articles falling in Israel, the Middle East, La Reunion, Mauritius, the USA, the UK, France, South Africa. Today it was the popular and very respected tourism magazine in Turkey that has come out with a dedicated full colour front cover on the Seychelles carnival. Suat Tore, the Editor and editor in Chief of the S & M Publications Ltd, the publishers of the 'Mee Turkey Alternative Tourism & MICE Magazine' that has hit the news stands of Europe. S&M Publication ltd. is one of the leading travel publication company in Turkey. It has three periodical travel magazines; New Focus Travel MagazineMeeTurkey Incentive Magazine, and Arab&Turkish Travel Magazine. Moreover, it has four periodical online travel news service: Focus on Travel NewsArab & Turkish Travel Gazette,RusTourismNewsTurizmcinin Gazetesi. An annual World Travel Guide & Diary, and travel bulletins…etc {www.smpublication.com | www.ftnnews.com | www.arabturkishtravel.com |www.rustourismnews.com | www.turizmciningazetesi.com}

The cover of the 'Mee Turkey Alternative Tourism & MICE Magazine'  is attached as photo (Click on the cover to read the latest issue).

Both Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture and Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Tourism Board said that they were happy to see their efforts in staging the biggest ever cultural even in Seychelles brings real visibility for the islands and all the countries who continue to see this Carnival of Carnivals as tourism trade fair with a difference. "We sold seychelles for years pushing our sun, sea and sand. We in vied press to write about these unique selling points for a beach holiday, but we have realised since a few years now that the press had all come and done this and were just not interested in repeat stories to replay the same scratched records as they put it themselves. We need to be proactive and far sighted even when some did not understand that their own success depended on Seychelles making a giant leap forward to place its culture at the heart of its tourism development. When we place our culture at the centre of our tourism development we were in fact placing our people in the centre of the continued development of our country" said Minister Alain St.Ange when this latex tourism magazine was issued with a spectacular photo of the Seychelles carnival on its front cover and full colour pages as their report on the carnival.Even the editorial of this issue of the magazine is dedicated on the 2015 edition of the Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria.

Culture is still not something everyone appreciates which was why the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organisation) and UNESCO organised a tourism through culture in Cambodia earlier this year. The Seychelles tourism trade individually have come out and mostly congratulated the efforts of their Tourism Board. many Hotels, Resorts and Tourism Companies participated with carnival floats and have given a helping hand for the carnival either financially or by hosting press and officials in Seychelles for the event.   "Appreciating culture is a very patriotic thing. Culture is power and following a cultural strategy in one's tourism industry is success for the long term" Minister St.Ange says.

Reunion Island was this year again the partner country with Seychelles for the organisation of the carnival and Didier Robert, the President of the Regional Council of Reunion was personally in Seychelles as head of his island's delegation. Xavier-Luc Duval, the Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius was the Guest of Honour at this year's event which also saw the presence of the King of the Ashanti, the Royal Princess of Swaziland, Tourism Ministers from South Africa, Cote D'Ivoire, Ghana, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia and Culture Minister from Swaziland and Heads of Tourism from many more countries.

Seychelles have always said that they organise the event to speed the word of peace and harmony using culture as the base with everyone participating where political affiliation, religious beliefs and colour of the skin plays no difference. "This event is the biggest single even organised in Seychelles. well over half of the island's population comes out to be seen and to be supporting the event that also spreads in Seychelles the spirit of harmony immaterial of political affiliation, religious beliefs and colour of the skin" said Minister Alain St.Ange when he said he had a dream when he was officially opening the 2015 edition of the carnival using again the words of John Lennon that said "You may say I am a dreamer, but I am not the only one. ….Someday we shall live as one…"

Murdered Man Un-earthed at Bel Ombre

A local newspaper is reporting news that a human skeleton has been found at Bel Ombre, the paper contacted the District Administration (DA) office and the Beau Vallon Police Station and both denied any knowledge.

As the photo shows the skeleton has been found on the site where a new hotel is under construction at Beau Belle.

The remains have been reburied before the concerned authorities including the police and the Ministry of Health have been informed.

The big question is whose skeleton is it?

A number of people have disappeared without a trace in the country's recent history, especially during the one-party state era and their whereabouts remain a public interest.

The paper confirmed that at least one family has tried to get a Court order during the day to have the skeleton exhumed so that they can have DNA tests carried out to verify if this is the remains of their loved one.

Apparently more information will follow next week.

SPPF-PL Divides Into Two Parties

The man of the week is undoubtedly Ex Minister of SPPF Mr. Patrick Pillay. With help from SBC, he was able to have aired his lengthy press conference, held at Coco D,or Hotel, Beau Vallon, Mahe. Journalists were anxious, dumbfounded by the thought of an SPPF break away party from James Michel PL Party. History has been made, a new faction of the SPPF which will undoubtedly divide the party in half, like a Takamaka log going through a wood mill.......Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Pillay Comes With His Gang

Pillay made it clear, he is a leader of a Left Center social justice party that has three things on its mind: 1. Corruption, 2. Corruption, 3. Corruption. He says James Michel has sent emissaries to him to ask him to rethink, re dialogue, reconsider, but his mind is made up. The inference being, that the corruption is so prolific in PL, that Mr. Pillay, former head teacher, former Minister, former Ambassador could not take it any more after 20 years of service.

With him has come William Herminie, ex constitutional conference delegate to SPPF in 1992, ex Minister, ex delegate to the Electoral Reform Conference for PL. At one point Mr. Herminie, losing patience over my demand that we deal with the 20,000 passport holders who bought Seychelles passports interjected in an honest manner while acknowledging the predicament exposed: " What do we do with 20,000 passport holders who bought these passports?"

Others are Noella Alexander an Ex Minister, who was also thrown out of Coral strand by Russians. An offensive act, which could happen only under James Michel. Under any other government, the hotel would have been shut down.

There is Simone De Commarmond, ex Minister of Tourism, sidelined before her time, and pensioned off along with other ministers. It seems the pension strategy has backfired, now, for man or woman, lives off more then just bread, Mr. Michel, in case you did not know.......breadfruit under your reign the last Five years for most Seychellois, while foreigners imported Salmon and caviar.

Ahmed Afif is the other key player.

Dr. Ramadoss the Treasurer. Dr. Ramadoss for his part said in  Independent on the Eve of the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce Elections that he has zero political ambition. I leave the conclusion to the reader.

Rene's Mil Pti Parti

Rene's mill Pti parti is on the march. Just as Rene envisioned, mil Pti parti registering, in the run, only this time, part of the equation is a bunch of smaller parties springing up from his own party.
Ah what did your wife say........" What is good for the goose, is good for the gander".

Today, I say, bring it on, the mil Pti parti! Bring it on. Let the divisions begin, it will bring some big fish in a small pond back to reality.

Police State Seychelles

The Police received a computer from the European Union this week that allows them to download all information, conversations, text messages, on your mobile phone. For years now Police have been pinning mobile phone positioning with antennas and GPS. Satellites monitor each boat and drug traffickers not keen to this have been caught on the high seas ply drugs from Madagascar. Where do we draw the line between Public Safety and Individual rights?

Seychelles Constitution
The Seychelles Constitution was a negotiated document that intended to protect fundamental human rights. But over the years, these rights have been eroded, particularly under James Michel government.

Today the Police are taught that they are above the law of the land. They say routinely, " we can stop you any time, we can enter your home anytime, we can bug your line and mobile, anytime".

This type of status quo is not the affairs of a democracy, where Individual rights are respected, and held paramount to State Rights, absent Probable Cause to stop, arrest, detain, conduct surveillance.

Probable Cause doctrine requires warrants issued by the Magistrate to be effective, absent evidence of a crime being committed to intrude into a persons abode to search, especially under the guise of darkness.

This Doctrine is clearly reinforced by Article 20 of the Seychelles Constitution which no one in Seychelles ever cite.

Article (20) (1)

Every person has a right not to be subjected -
(a) without the consent of that person,to the search of the person or property or premises of that person or to the unlawful entry by others on the premises of that person;

(b) without the consent of the person or an order of the Supreme Court, to the interception of correspondence or other means of communication of that person either written, oral,or through any medium.

NDEA Shame

The NDEA Act openly contradicts this doctrine. It permits by Act , free rights of the officers of NDEA to enter a persons home, conduct inspection, without a warrant, at night, without Probable Cause. The Michel  regime has gotten it wrong, very wrong. The Seychelles Bar Association has remained silent, so they have gotten it wrong as well.

Police State
The net effect of this lack of respect of Individuals  rights, is we have now a Police State in Seychelles. That is bad for business and bad for the citizen. The Police think that because the State does not respect Individual Rights, they do not have to.
That is a very dangerous thing, given that the Police only go through a Three month training course, and are paid Scr. 6,000.00 per month. This also explains why they smash up so many vehicles, and cannot seem to win the hearts and minds of the Public inspite of the Public facing a repeating crime wave.

Ramkalawan Misleads The Public On Salaries

Recently,Wavel Ramkalawan, SNP Leader announced if elected as President, he will give workers on the Public Sector ( government ) employees a slush fund free salary or 13 month salary for 12 months of service. His argument is that MNA politicians voted themselves this Christmas bonus and Seychellois workers should all get the same. Why Not?

Seychelles Under IMF Administration

Mr. Ramkalawan forgot to tell the People of Seychelles that Seychelles remains under IMF administration, meaning, IMF reviews our budgets before they are submitted each year, to reduce our indebtedness, lower our external debt, cut internal costs, and keep the Seychelles running on lean strict diet of cash. Ramkalawan seems to suggest that if elected, we will blow the IMF program, send the, back to Washington DC, and have a orgy on expenditure, similar to what he did in 2007 with SPPF to get this 38 percent MNA salary increase and pension for life.

Why Does Ramkalawan Not Propose Cutting MNA Salaries and Ministers?
We all know MNA s and ministers are over paid. Why does not Ramkalawan propose to cut these salaries? Why does he propose another increase?

While the average worker will get another salary from Ramkalwan's proposal, so will MNA 's and people like him.

How  Responsible Is This?
This populist game is dangerous for Seychelles. Ramkalawan proposes this because he has no program, he has no idea what to do. He simply thinks government is an orgy of expenditure. He does not understand that Seychelles is underperforming, we are under productive, unless you listen to Madam Zialor. Boochu would have had a better explanation after eating lentils and meat in the marmite.

Get serious about Seychelles future, stop screwing with our future. Today Seychelles needs a serious dialogue, not cheap politics to make the people look like fools.

Seychelles President Visits Pope Francis

This week fanfare was rife over the quick surprise visit by James Michel of Pope Francis.
Mr. Michel apparently took an SBC camera man with him, and Pope Francis made sure he has his own cameraman on site.

Meet and Greet The Pope
For the official meeting, Mr. Michel travelled to the Vatican, waited for the visit. Suit and tie in place, when given an audience with the Pope, Mr. Michel, now an insignificant Marxist -Leninist, bowed before the Pope to be received and audiences by the Pope. The meeting took place at the desk of the Pope, with Mr. Michel sitting in a single guest chair. The scene was similar to a school pupil being lectured by a school head teacher.

SBC Extends Film Interview of Michel at Vatican
In no time of course, Mr. Michel was out side the Vatican being filmed for airing on SBC. He looked a bit like Mr. Bean,
trying to explain his invitation to the Pope to visit Seychelles, which the Pope remained Non-committal.

Mr. Michel Said Nothing

Mr. Michel said nothing about the areas discussed with the Pope. Surely, the Pope would have addressed the growing drug problem in Seychelles, the upcoming elections, the expiration of his Three Terms of Office, support for amending the Constitution, perhaps. Michel may have discussed the unaccounted un solved murders that linger on as ghosts in Seychelles. But Mr. Michel said nothing.

Did The Vatican Ask Michel To Come?
Did the Vatican call Mr. Michel to come visit the Pope? No. Mr. Michel used Seychelles diplomatic status to push for an audience with the Pope. This moment, has been turned into publicity stunt with the cameras present as usual. Why would Mr. Michel want to waste State resources, to visit the Pope? After all, the Pope has numerous representatives in Seychelles, Mr. Michel could visit but rarely does.

Seychelles is suffering a great deal from Mr. Michel's bad decisions. Maybe he did not know where to turn to and he ended up at the Vatican, while the District Offices were giving out money for bottles of Black Label and Rum on May 1 st, to keep people drunk.

Seychelles Presidential Panic

The Seychelles President James Michel has faced a tumultuous week of panic upon panic.
When a leader panics, all his men panic, all his entourage start to question his nerve, and ability, like we have been now for many years.

We have good reason to question Michel's leadership skills and ability. Too many reasons.

Bodyguard Pulls 9mm while walking

At the Carnival, James Michel body pulled his side arm 9mm while walking and escorting the President and the King of Ghana. Anyone with experience in firearms, will tell you: " never risk upholstering your weapon while walking or running, you may accidentally shoot your foot or the person you are securing. This move is highly unprofessional. One only ask why would a bodyguard be so nervous to check a weapon in motion?

After the Carnival scare for Michel, he made his way to the Vatican

James Michel meets the Pope  whenever he is in trouble.

In 2007 he met Pope John Paul and he returned from the Vatican to lie to the People of Seychelles saying" I am happy to say, we have paid off all the debts of Seychelles". What a lie! Yet no one in SPPF said a word, not even Patrick Pillay, or Noellie Alexander. Today they are learning to speak up.

Another Desperate Meeting

This week, James Michel after giving us small talk for five years, and slogans like " Blue Economy"' I Love Seychelles, leve debourye, love your family, love your country, blah, blah blah, he took another trip to visit another Pope.

The GUN Vs. The Bible
Mr. Michel, if you bow to the Pope, why do you need guns in Seychelles?
Did Jesus carry a gun to the cross?
Did John The Baptist baptise new believers at the River Jordan with a gun to their heads?
Why do you have soldiers stand armed to shoot Seychellois?
How can you live by the gun and not die by the gun?

If you love Seychelles James Michel, you owe many of us an apology but more importantly, you need to retire and let us solve the problems that are clearly beyond your abilities
Finally, be a hero........disarm Seychelles!
This is what Jesus would do.
