James Michel returned from New York with the bravado of a cowboy, immediately went to the cameras and called elections.
Support for Michel in PL has been fracking and cracking daily on the hour. Voters are not buying his stories about how good things are and he seems to be facing a situation of media exhaustion wherein swing voters have has enough of him. Swing voters will make the difference in the election, as the traditional PL block breaks in half, and SNP disperses after facing another run with Ramkalawan the Priest Millionaire, with nothing else to say.
The wild card is Lalyans Seselwa made up of ex - PL members and ex - ministers.
PL best option to secure a win would be to run Faure and St. Ange or Adam as a new team.
Michel seems to have missed this option, and demonstrates he is clearly put of touch with the pulse of Seychelles.
Now it remains to be seen if Lalyans Seselwa can deliver, as SNP fields a Priest Millioanire with all sorts of stories.

Michel !s call for early election is a cynical political play.He thinkd,his action would take Opposition off guard,and by creating confusion might increase his changevof being re~elected,and avoid an inprobable re~electrion next year when the economy sucks,and avoid more exposure from the opposition that would bury him alive.
But,for seychellois,Michel!s early election call,is proof that Michel has failed to live up to his promises and that pl has long past it sell~by date.It is signs,that michel has failed to keep his home in order,let alone run a government
Would seychellois re~elected a thug who bankrupt ourceconomy,sold out our pstrimony and birth right,and rape seychellois votes,and live under the noxious ideology of divide and crook?I personally believe Seychellois is more intelligent than Michel and would send michel to the trashbin of history.
As the above comment rightly puts it,Michel slim change of winning would be to bring with him persons like St Ange,..but even with St Ange on his side,he would not be in a position of winning the majority in the Assembly,that had allowed him in the past to act unilaterally and by dictation.(his long stooge ilks in the Assembly must be worried of loosing their sits,and be unemployed.....Some of them.like Herminie must be feeling devastated by michels call...while the less crooked,might already thinking of jumping off sinking ship to join the Opposition.Until now,michel dictation and unilateral actions,were felt by thebpeople,now his ilks In thecAssembly are realizing that a dictator does not anybody,and the dictator would go a long way to protect his throne,including sacrifing his own apostles to save himself.
Drop to writ,is in any an assurance for victory,it might only prolong ,for sometime a dictator life,but ascrecent history shows,in Sri Lanka,Australia,and elsewhere it might cause merry hell for the dictators government.
I did not say Michel should run with St. ange as an option.
I said Michel's only hope is to make way for new options like Faure, St. Ange or Adam team. This would breathe new life into dying PL?
All three men Faure ST. Ange and Adam are well regarded across a cross sector of Seychelles.
They would help to make over PL.
Failing that, Michel is just recycling his old bones for a very young electorate that has little respect for him.

Michel call for a snap election ,is it Constitutional?if Not,The Supreme Court could rule on the Constitutionality of the unscheduled election~~thus Michel would be seen as a isolated dictator afraid of his people.
Why would a President who thinks his people love him to death,and a majoritarian Assembly calls for snap election,before end of his term in office?If he,loved as he proclaim to be the case,there should be no rational reasons to call early election.
The decision,to call for a snap election is modeled using game theory.Michelcis conscious that if he waits,the voters would get further opportunity to assess his government,hence,the risk of having his already fading popularity undermind by poor performance.It reveals in fact,that a future decline is expected.In other words,snap election censor the voters abilty to observe his polditoicy future,.But it also deprive voters from organizing themselves,and might impede opposition from organizing themselves properly.
Could it be that michel is about to walk in his own electoral trap?Voters have the power to save him or kill him
What is sure though,Michel failed badly,and since 2008,under his rule,seychelles has bern in acute austerity,and seychellois are feeling worse off than ever.
What is also true,is that on the ground,Michel puts in a virtual no~win situation for pl since the last 4 decades.Michel would find it hard to deal with Pillay,..
Pillay ,who has been since the launching of his party ,has presented himself as a moral force above the political fray.
Pillay has become seychellois! Symbol of hope,and come to represent honesty and simplicity ,that are the traits of our people.

I am not saying Faure could win an election, but he would have a much better chance for Pl,with Adam or St. ange. You must remember Adam and St. Ange are popular across party lines. Michel the public has just had over load of him. They are fed up.Faure is very popular in Pl and he is the best administrator PL has.
Ram for his part- 22 years of the same-o same - o has nothing to add to Seychelles democratic evolution. He has reduced himself to competing with David Pierre. This in itself is disgraceful, a vote for Ram is a wasted vote for change.
He is washed up.
Anyone voting for Ram may aswell commit suicide.

Minister Joel Morgan would be an option as well, as long as Michel would retire.
PL should consider this,
All opposition should consider the move as a jesture of National Reconciliation, which up to now, Michel has failed to achieve in any serious way.

UN meeting was in the context of a General Assembly meeting. Michel role was minor at best.
A few photo props but he came home empty handed as usual.
Clinton foundation meeting, he was proud to announce 30 percent debt forgiveness in exchange of vast ocean areas to be reserved. This is hardly a victory to run a parade over. The commentor even said to him, you should have heighten the debt relief much higher then 30 percent for this vast area.
Again Michel short changes us on practical measures, but he is big on props, cameras and over sozed suits and ties.
Any one of his senior ministers could have done 100 percent better then Michel. Faure, St. ange, Adam, Morgan .
The question is why does he stay on eternally? What is he hiding?
He is afraid of justice,thus jail cell.

Michel calls for snap election before important issues such as the over numbers of registrated persons etc......so that he and gappy can rob election.
U can not hold an election before these issues are solves,and opposition must refuse any election to take place before these issues are dealt with...........

They ignored SFP call for BOYCOTT until this single matter be resolved.
