Representatives of Turkish Airlines are in Seychelles holding meetings with relevant authorities ahead of the start of they new service to the islands at the end of September this year. Fatih Mehmet Kursun, their General Manager for Mauritius, Madagascar and now Seychelles accompanied by Dr. Taner Erim, the Manager International Relations and Agreements for Middle East and Africa and Yakup Gozubuyuk, their Expert for International Relations and Agreements for Middle East and Africa paid a courtesy call on Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture at the Ministry's ESPACE Offices in Victoria.Discussions that centered on the arrival date of the airline's first flight to Seychelles at the end of September was also the opportunity for Turkish Airline to review their target source markets for Seychelles as well as conditions presented to them for their operation in Seychelles. Present also at the meeting was Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board who confirmed to the Turkish Airline delegation that their marketing and sales people were already actively working with the Tourism Board in countries already identified as target markets for Seychelles.Turkish Airlines are launching their Seychelles service with three flights and are hoping to increase the number of flights to the islands in the near future. "We are happy to see the arrival of Turkish Airline to our shores. We are a mid-ocean tourism destination that remains dependent of adequate air access to make our tourism industry work" Minister St.Ange said as he was presented with a replica model of the plane that will be on the Seychelles route from the end of September this year.

The move frees Air Seychelles to now focus on the lucrative Paris market and Exponential CHINA market, where the sky is the limit.
Condor will add another flight per week as well from September.
Qatar is running three flights a week and re- establishing service.
This has been a result of St. Ange responding to demands of the TRADE and literally going to these companies on his knees begging for Seychelles.
This Minister works. He works hard for Seychelles.
He does not work on excuses.
We should all recognize his contribution.
Those of you in SNP playing your tribal politics and remaining vindictive towards St. Ange, you have only yourselves to blame. Because you stayed silent when you should have raised a voice.
Ok, when LDS takes over we will consider allowing St Ange to continue as Minister because we do not have the attitude of ek nou pa ek nou. LDS attitude is The Best Seychellois for the job and the best remuneration to keep the Seychellois interested, motivated and valued. An LDS majority in the assembly will ensure the government is lean, efficient and effective. We have a lot of catching up to do - with LDS we will get there sooner and quicker with the right results to benefit Seselwa instead of the large foreign hotel owners. Well done Mr St Ange for rescuing our tourism industry after 3 full decades of mismanagement and paying lip service by the Rene government. You have done a great job, you have been a visionary, long may it continue.
Before LDS takes over anything, it's leader needs to bury his arrogance.

All 'LEADERS' have come to realise that the label 'Arrogant Leader' aimed at Father is a perception. We can only give Father Wavel a chance to lead with his team of LDS Leaders. Time will tell if Father is up to it. Should Father fail us we will VOTE him out.

I have supported SPPF/PL for the pas 35 years...They have manipulated me and have been 'good' to me materially - unfortunately, they have failed the whole Nation. I have come to realise how they operate. They are very smart at blackmailing to keep a grip on power. I feel very ashamed to have been associated with SPPF/SPUP/PL..... Hopefully Father Ramkalawan will lead ALL Seychellois/se to a bright future in spite of you two having your personal differences.

Ramkalawan has forgiven JAM publicly at the LDS rally yesterday. Can you not find it in you to draw a line, forgive, unite and move forward for the sake of a united Seychelles. Once RAM is forgiven, we will expect him to behave like a statesman. I will be the first one to call for his removal / resignation if he does not change his attitude.

This is treason. He has betrayed the scared principle of Sesel Pou Seselwa while in opposition. We do not have to wait for 39 months to see Ramkalawan betray us once more. SPPF Pl can pardon him, because it is convenient to them. The Fabrike judges can pardon him. Dismiss his case, because it is convenient to them.
Any one who loves Seychelles and believes in Sesel Pou Seselwa, needs to hold Ramkalawan accountable, no different then you would hold any one else. He is a traitor to Seychelles.

An exchange of opinion and ideas on a " leader" of a political party is not an argument.
If we reduce our ideas and opinions to the level of argument, then we fail each other.
If we fail each other, we then fail our country.
What is before us is of historical magnitude. For our. People, for our country, we must get it right!

The problem with us nowadays, we will find every possible opportunity to twist words and writings around to discredit achieve our own agenda.
This seems to be the case with the famous 'tamil latter'. There is nothing wrong or offensive with the 'tamil letter' if it is taken at face value and understood in the spirit it was meant. ie Tamils/Chinese/Arabs/Aliens....have the same opportunities in Seychelles as long as they are bonafide Seselwa.... They can be a Racine/Importe - as long as they are not fake and have obtained their citizenship above board. RAM did not guarantee high positions to anyone - but he guaranteed the opportunities would be there subject to their abilities .... RAM suggestion is much better than the current situation of 'ek nou, pa ek nou'. You know full well that all the 'ek nou' does not have the mental capacity to run and guide this country. I would say the mental capacity is surely lacking in PL. You could practically count on one hand how many qualified people are there within the PL government. On the other hand we have a solid team of LDS professionals who have worked very hard to make a real difference. LDS have managed to UNITE whilst PL are trying all the tricks in the books to DIVIDE & RULE. to be continued.....

This is a condition of minority. As adults, we are all responsible for our actions. Rams letter to the Tamils did not provide mere opportunity to Tamils. Tamils under PL enjoy more opportunities then bonafide Seselwa
Rasin. Tamils run shops, change money, own construction companies, and they are the fastest growing immigrant group. They now seek political influence and power in our country, while retaining citizenship with India.
The Tamil letter written by Ram highlighted Ram' s intellectual racism and preference for Tamils. He offered them- 1. Seats in Consul of Ministers, 2. Making Tamil a Fourth Official language, which will require constitutional amendment and usurpation, materially altering what is Seychelles as defined by the Founding Fathers and the Preamble of the Constitution, 3. Create a Tamil National Holiday, which is contrary to the Constitution and our very national identity as a Seychellois.
Because PL team lack intelligent people, does not give Ram the right as a politician to offer Posts to Tamils. Is Ram and yourself saying we Seychellois who are not PL, are incapable, and not intelligent. Is this what you and a Ram are insinuating? While we are all imperfect, I cannot agree with you more. However, imperfection is not a justifiable reason to attempt to sell our patrimony to the Tamils for thirty pieces of silver from the money changer, before an election, and a stoke at power for 39 months as you put it.
What is more outrageous , is RAM has told the judges that he found nothing wrong with this letter and attempt at political bribe and Cohersion towards/ in conspiracy with the Tamils Indian Community.
Ram should run for office in Kerla. If you love your country, you should ask him to simply resign from politics and do the decent thing .

Please Mr Gill, go ahead and load the ORIGINAL 'Tamil Letter' with its translation. I will comment on each and every sentence declared on this famous letter. Like I said previously, rather than focus on twisting the Tamil Letter, why not focus on the good that Father Ramkalawan has done for us to get LDS where it is today.
By the way I am not a fan of FAR for my obvious reasons. To this day Seychelles is suffering because of 5th June 1977. However, in spite of all these, FAR has done some good and we need to acknowledge the good he has done and reject the bad and evil he advocated during his time. All I am asking you to do is be fair to RAM and acknowledge the good he has done, acknowledge the suffering he has gone through and of course reject his bad points and move on. Do not get stuck in the past.
Unfortunately, you are way way off the mark NOT associating me with those exiled, lost land, business and beloved families. Yes, I agree it is very sad that I cannot place my name for you to identify me. I am just someone who follows and observe Seychelles Political scene from a distance. I cannot see where it says Tamil will be an official language or Tamil national Holiday. All he said that Deewali will be made a holiday and they will be given a time slot on the radio. If the catholic, 7th day adventist bahai and other religions get a slot on the radio why cannot the tamils that are Hindu get a time slot. If christmas is a holiday why can Deewali not be made a holiday. Seychelles is a multicultural, multi religious society. It does not belong to the christian church.

What is wrong with acknowledging your grandfathers origin, unless he is lying. I cannot verify if his grandfather came from India. However looking at RAM, he looks to have traits of Indian in him the same way I would say Mr Gill has traits of Indian in him as well. Mr Gill this is my take on this famous ‘Tamil Letter’ Let us move forward and not waste our time on this. We have wasted almost 4 decades under a one party state. Let us all come together for a better Seychelles. I respect a lo of your views, the same way I respect a lot of RAM’s views. Seychelles has been a melting pot for centuries. It is not an ethnic grouping society. Our Almighty has created us in different races, colour, ethnicity, build etc in order for us to recognise His unparalleled power. It is unfortunate, that as a Seselwa nation we used to accept this and respect others values and cultures. We can all be Seselwa from different origins and cultures.....why can we not accept this. Perhaps you misunderstand the root of my protest.
Allow me to highlight the deeper thoughtful points you seem to misunderstand.
The Ram Letter To Tamil is offensive because Ram offers special treatment to Tamils based on a sectorial classification.
This is similar to the way Seychelles was run under colonial French Administration. White French Administers from Ile De France were given hundreds. Thousands of acres of land to develop with permission to import slaves to labor. This sectorial preference system is how Seychelles was founded as a colony.
From time to time, sectorial groups in Seychelles have tried to impose this type of thinking. You will recall the Planters Association who fought against the Right to Universal Sufferage. They wanted land owners only to have the Right to Vote in Seychelles.
Our move for Independence ( SPUP) and the move to Free Association ( Democratic Party) with UK was fought Seychellois Right To Vote was granted, and the Seychellois people embarked on a march of Self Determination once and for all, by hook, or by crook.
On June 29 th, 1976, we became a Self Determined Micro Nation State. It is only on this date that we could say legally- a Seychellois people existed.
This Right To Self Determination is a UN Human Charter human right, which is usurped by Ramkalawans Letter to Tamils offering them power, national day, in exchange for their support, and worse, for an Anglican Priest, offering to run his government under the laws of Tamil God : " RAM" and to run his administration under the principles of Ram a Tamil deity.. You neglected to include this in your post, which demonstrates intellectual: DISHONESTY and political opportunism at the expense of defending Seychellois Self Determination. It is for this reason that your defense, and RAM's assertions are a NATIONAL DISGRACE.

Mr Gill, I asked you to post the original letter for me to comment on each and every sentence. I did not post the 'original letter' . I thought it was you who posted it. Nevertheless, I commented on each and every sentence to what appeared on this blog. Now you are asking me to comment on a specific sentence which I did not come across previously. I will quote this sentence that you are referring to for clarity:

If he did write this, we will have to reconcile the virtues and laws of Tamil God Ram to see if it fits in 100% with our laws. If it does reconcile 100% with our laws then, oli problem.
If the above sentence was indeed in the original letter distributed to the Tamils Seselwa, and it fails to reconcile with our laws by .00001%, then we ought to seek clarification to understand RAMs thinking behind this.

So I did not see you at the LDS Rally in GAP.
Now, you know the famous saying 'when there is no wine, we will settle for water'. We find ourselves in this situation when you think LDS should be headed by Mr Boulle, who I will describe as our 'WINE' .
