As the Southeast monsoon blows over Seychelles, Air Seychelles led by Nano Papa has taken ripping off travelers to new heights. To cover their fiasco, and perhaps bribe a few into silence, they are offering to some organizations cheap tickets. Only yesterday, they offered for one month, Mahe- Praslin tickets for Scr. 383.00 one way residents only. But that is one side of the coin only.

Air Seychelles Has No Heart For Even A Dog
If a dog is traveling to Praslin from Mahe, he has no chance to get even a dogs excursion.
Air Seychelles year on year, has proven itself heartless, merciless, with travelers going to Praslin or vice versa. The Chairman, Minister Joel Morgan has remained silent, indifferent to the rip off pricing scheme in place, giving way to Nano Papa's policy of high rates, that in turn destroy the Praslin economy, irate Tourists, and make Seychellois feel that they would be better off being dogs, them to try to connect on an inter island flight.
The Broken Promise To reduce Fares and Streamline
Nano Papa has promised to reduce fares when I address this issue in the Cross Sector meeting.
This has been supported by Minister of Tourism - St. Ange. Minister Joel Morgan, stayed silent. If Minister Morgan stays silent any longer, he must go. If silence is the Modus Operandi of Minister Morgan, he must be retired from Air Seychelles, and Ministry of Transportation. No longer will the business community and ordinary Seychellois remain silent as Minister Morgan remains silent.
The promise reduction in fares has been made over one year now.
Cheap Tickets For SHTA
Nano Papa does give out cheap tickets - selectively to those who remain silent. Recently the SHTA members were offered tickets under SCR. 2600.00 round trip to Paris on the inaugural flight July 1, 2015, Economy Class. Return travel must be within 30 days.
This offer confirms that it is cheaper per mile, to take a flight to Paris on Air Seychelles then it cost to fly from Mahe to Praslin. Paris is Eight hours. Praslin is 15 minutes.
While Nano Papa tries to figure out his way around Paris, he should take note, finding his way around Praslin will not be much easier.
Keep your word Papa, before we start calling you a dog!

Air Seychelles domestic flight ticket is similar to the price hiking by monopolies .which means unjustified and irealitstic ,and often use to pay the failure of those making failed decision at the helm of Air Seychelles namely PApa,Mama Glenny Savy and other crooks.Of course,Papa ,gleeny and other Airsey mamgememnt are earnihng a fortune also unjustified ,and to ensure they pocket their fat cat salry the hike price and suck both Seychellois and tourism with astromonic price,for a 15 minute flight.Should Airsey personal in Seychelles be reduced to save cost and thereby help reducing the general cost of personal.....Hwy have Glenny and A foregner call PAPA to operate a micro Airline company like Seychelles?Could we do it ourselves?Why should Airsey posse a oversiezed building thus costing a fortune to the company which are compensated by charging both Seychellois and tourism the actual astromic ticket price.....
In other words,the over numbered of Personel at Airsey,seize of building in regards to the seize of the Airline ,explain partly why Airsey is charging unrealistic price..and that when for the last six past months fuel price was at it lowest....and to that monopoly of Airsey..Should the Domestic Air transport be open to competition?Well if PAPA,AMAM glenny savy and Pl continues to racket both seychelloi and tourist whithout conmvincing argument,,(which we think they have not)then opening domestic Air traffick to other potential operators should be consider....the status qou today is sucking both Seychellois and tourist..and this kind of crooked stragety cannot contine,for it is destroying the economy of Praslin but also Seychelles tourism industry....
By reducing ticket price,in fact this would automatically push CATCOCO to also reduce it price.It is high time that we have firstly ,A Seychellois at the helm of Airsey,thus more concern about his or her land and tourism industry than a foreigner like Papa who is costing Airsey a fortune and delivering nothing than impedeing and destroying our tourism industry....and will cost airsey less.Reducing ticket price further done ,or simply allows other operators to operate on the domestic market in order to stop monopoly and abusive price hike by Airsey.For instance,if not another domestic air company...the existing Hilicopter company ,(with bigger and more seat can be an alternatives.

What makes a domestic airline operating literally on each flight with full seating charge such asatromic price ticket for 15 minutes journey?

big unjustified slalry for some personnel,
a cheap and easy solution to compensate the management stragety failure
-Monopoly, no competition
-Personal enrichment
-Bad policy
-Over sieze personnel(for instance too many pilots with less planes ,hence high price to pay for the extra pilots doing literally nothing)
compensate the lost of under price ticket for Pl personnel,and other unnecessary flight to Praslin and La digue..,,Unnecessary trips means...instead of flight to Praslin once and do several things on this trip..theygovt personnel flight regularly for often for small thing that could have been doen on the first trip...abuse of domestic flight for private purposes by govt personnel ..such as gifting ministers family fre or under pirce tickets,or friends flight under price on govet expense.
Too big building,thus high energy cost,more personnel and many just their to be kept busy by government for else they would be unemployed....Just like the over seized among of personnel in Pl government.E.g Now you have Glenny as ?????PApa as Ceo,Then another one a assistance CEO,another as Assisstant of the assistance Ceo ,etc,etc,,etc just putting pl supporters in place in order to secure then a job ,though it is not needed or could be done by one person...The position of PApa could have been well been combined by what Glenny is doing now.....There is no justification for a small company to have so many personnel,and employees ,especially when many are not doing an important job or different responsibilities could be amalgated into one----etc..etc..

There are four factors that drives prices:COMPETITION,SUPPLY,DEMAND,and OIL PRICE.The first and the last items are the ones that really affect prices.The four factors are called LOAD FACTOR.When an airline wants to fill its planes and maximize profits,and it does that by calculating plane,s Load Factor.
However,Air Sey(domestic service),does not have competition,it is a monpolistic business.Nor did Papa reduce price when Oil prices werr at its lowest.In fact,customers demand exceeds Supply.which makes it more difficult to understand Airsey pharaonic ticket fee on domestic flight.
Usually,the normal practice when there is competition,if the load factor is low,and demand is low,an,airline will increase the availability of cheaper fares.Airlines tend to manage their load factor ti increase revenue.Hence,with no competition and higher capacity,Papa deliberately choose to suck out,racket passengers,for this option allows hin to make profit without having to But uy more planes to satisfy customers demsnd.monopoly allows him to do so.He on fact,by setting high fares,discourage passengers for.lower with stimulate new demand,that Papa has no solutoon to deal with.
How to bring the sky~high ticket fee back to earth?First,the actual price whatever the excusecgiven by Papa is unjustified,and should anyway be lower.
Papa would have tobprobably by new aircraftto satisfy demand.
Paps can have a variable ticket fee system.E,g ,early and,or during peak traffick have a higher price,while during low peak time,e,g later in the evening a reduced price to encourage passengers to fly on late flight service.
Papa could charge morebof bagage,the more and digger they are the higher the price.
REDUCEpersonnals,even replace by a seychellois which would reduce expenses.
Note also,Airsey domestic service,as a state owed company,does have such expenses as grounded,landing fee,parking fee ,carbon tax etc tobpay,which means it is making savings.
It is unfortunate that govt has shield away from tough decisions that would challenge the existing status quo,destructive for the touridm industry but also praslinois and Diguois.,even though ticket reduction would lead to immense benefits for travelers and the wider economy.
OPEN TO COMPETITION,if papa can not bring alternatives,competition will surely force pspa to changevhis dictatorial andcracketing policy.When i say competition pl,i mean allow Seychellois,who wants to operate a private domestic airline tovdo so,notvforeigners(unless in partnerdhip withvseychellois),......
And to force papa tovretract,catcoco would havevto face competition too,then not only airsey would be forced to be price fexible anddecide by the market,catcoco wouldvhave to change too.

Of course not glenny by david savy,As to glenny,he has a few aircrafts bought with tax payers money.Most of the time these planes are in oarking,thus papa can temoorary use in order to have more planes on domestic route to satisfy customers demand.
nano Papa is just ripping off the public without regard for the consequence to tourism industry.
He is fleecing the traveler as Mr. Christopher Gill rightly highlights.
He can easily drop prices, and create more equitable price classes, instead of offending the market with deterrence pricing.
Air Seyxhelles today has ample fleet.
It can add flights on short notice.
The pilots need to be paid better and treated better.
The ground staff sucks. They are the worse ever in Air Seychelles history.
Gorillas can do a better job.
I do not know how Papa can get a best Airline in Indian Ocean. The judges obviously did not fly to Praslin.

IDC has 4 planes------IDc flies one flight to Desroches dialy,And a weekly flight ot Farquhar during Fly-dishing season...so what the purpose of having 4 planes....with one flying a dialy flight soley to Desroches and One weekly to Farquahar....?It means literally three planes are on parking literally all year round.Use them as temporary solution to satisfy customer demands on Praslin/Mahe service.

I find if offensive disheartening that SHTA would take part in this fiasco when they have systematically failed to address with any success the high rates to Praslin. This should be the top order of the day. You will hear from the members on this. Thank you Christopher for your efforts.
