In a clandestine, without warning move, Minister of Transportation and Chairman of Air Seychelles, Mr. Joel Morgan fired Nano Papa in a joint press conference calling the move a strategic move.
The abrupt termination came immediately after Nano Papa was present to receive the Global Luxury Travel awards for " Best Airline in Indian Ocean" , " Best Business Class" and so on.
At the awards ceremony, Nano Papa overly consumed with himself as usual, and self absorbed at the Award ceremony, grabbed all the awards for a photo shot with the press, leaving Minister Joel Morgan in an embarrassing predicament of having to grab the awards himself, and hence causing a literal tug of war over the moment.
It is noticeable that Air Seychellles did not receive an award for " Best Domestic Carrier" since Air Seychelles, in spite of having new planes in the fleet has horrendous front desk service on Mahe, and the ticket pricing is a rip off offering MAFIA and usury ticket pricing to Praslin.
For over one year, Nano Papa had promised to resolve this issue that plagues Praslin economy, resulting in lower traffic load to the most beautiful island in the World.
Nano Papa once told me " if you want to make Seychellois happy, throw a booze party, don't reduce the air fares". Well Papa, after belittling us for the magic 18 months term, you failed to keep your word to the people of Praslin. In spite of your geeky indiocincrasy disposition, you too will now be walking to the best of the bottle.......I saw it all over your face when Morgan sacked you. You looked like a sky meals truck ran over your pathetic frame of a man, who did not have the decency to keep his word to a hard working community.

It is a welcoming decision....NANo has been too long taking Seychellois for fools,and his lack of actions deserve him a red card.(If the blind leads the blind,both shall fall in the ditch...that is what was going on by Airsey under NANO.)...In fact, this guy who was earning a fortune for doing nothing should have long been fired.If Morgan had taken the same dicision two year ago ,Praslin economy which has had their hand tied by sky-high ticket flight would today be better off and many small businesss in the tourism industry now bankrupt would have still exist.But it is never too later to act,and on this one I,congratulate Morgen for doing the right thing.
I hope sincerely ,that Morgan action is not one as aprt of an electoral tactic but aserious decision that nwould lead to change and bring answers and solutions to the concern of Praslinois and Diguois who have been too long waiting for real ,serious solution from Pl.
To ensure Praslinois of the genuinity of his action and the envy of solving Praslinois problem,Morgan should rapidly put someone in place (preferably a local who can also be made account to the people) that would act rapdidly ,for each single day that goes by with government inaction is alost for Praslinois as well as Seychelles economy,for each day million of rupees are being lost in revenues,important for our economy ,to pay back our debts ,and improve our citizens life.
Well done Morgan,now you have the second part to accomplish ,namely get the right person in the right palce ...and that not base on political affiliation,or orientation but on professionalism,genuinity,knowledge.know-how and have Seychellois interest at heart before anything.
NANO inaction as create a fall down in tax revenue for the state,and ditto have push many small tourism establishment to bankruptcy ,adding more Seychellois on to the poverty list...not good at all for a society already with a pharaoic debt and dependeing on foreign aid.

NANAO ejected for his commander seat for incompetency and violation of obligations.The only incompetency can be rewarded is by firing,and Morgan did it.How,we must not waste time debating on NANO ejection,he is already the past ,but haiving the right person for the right job,for Praslinois while happy of Morgan^s intervention ,are awaiting actions,and immediate action for the Govt.Only actions will solve the burden created by NANO's three years of inactions.
NaNo has a contract to fulfill ,he failed badly,in fact he amplified the problem he suppoed to fix.His ejection is justified.
Airsey canot continue to racket passengers..and there are some alterantives that can be used to ensure that airsey run a profitable business...
here are some ideas:
-That MINSITERs when on OFFICIAL trips that their minitery pay for the flight ticket.It could be a reduced price(but not a lost).By doing so,abuses ,misuses of free flight tickets would be reduced and since each trips will have a financial consequences on their ministry finance,or budget ,,,abuses would be automatically reduced.We cannot continue with this mentality in believing that"Airsey in a National company so miniters can have free ticekts on it)...we must thzink in a business mind set.
-Ajusting price according to high peak or low peak time...when low peak to attract passanger special price can be offered--Higher price of baggages
--Whne a perons made a booking than do not turned up and that without calling to cancel the booking or without justifiable reasons such as illness, emergency situation....then the person if did not call with a define time frame should be made to pay at least HALF OF THE TICKET(send a billto him)
_Person of STANBY could be charged a higher fee
--I believe also that business persons usinf airsey regularly (on a weekly basis and all year round)for business purposes should also be given a special price(not one that generate a lost ofr airsey but a recognition of tbeing a ruegular customer)and of course this special price(maybe a fix price)should not include family members or bags,and only legitimate when traveling on business purposes.
-etc... sometime we must innovative go beyond more pratices to adapt,be successful.....

We need to understand the domestic pricing needs adjustments badly.
The algorithem used for bookings and prices, is used on international flights.
This algorithem does not benefit frequent flyers, early bird bookings, resident bookings, business travelers between the islands. Nor does it offer decent rates for inbound tourists. It is generally a disaster. Papa accepted this, but did nothing about it.
Now time has passed, Minister Morgan has not kept his eye on the ball.
We need him to focus and come up with a solution.
Time is burning, Praslin is going Bankrupt.

BE it SHTC OFFICIALS OR ZHE MINISTER OF TOURISM,the particularity of their duties and missions made traveling to meet their partners....that is foreign tour opeartors,attending world travelvshows..etc...a necessity...zourists are foreignrrs and making regilar trips abroad is part of the tourism minster duty..While i think all monisters must have their respective minidtry pay for their travels...for airsey mudt be seen as a company as any company who needs to makebprofit,so can afgord prrsons traveling for free...for it is a lost....the zourism minister shoild have means to benefit from some advantages that of minsters would not...eg that a sprcial amount of money is,inckuded in his monistrry budget dedicated to cover his travel cost.
I am more concern by the abuses perpetrated by personsblike Michrl,Macham and other abusers.For instance,we saw michel using free flight on Airsey to travek to dubai to watch Fotmula one,ehich is a private tripcand michelbshould pay for his ticket from his pocket...or seeingcMachan,eho has no governmental respodibility,traveling for free on a monthly basis,to attend meeting around thevworld as governmentbofficial when he is not(after if thedebmerzings attended by mancham was hovernmental,we has Ambassadors abroad to do that).
But we have aldocMichel ,who is now traveling for free on Airsey domestic flight regularly to Praslin,..not as President,but Presidential,candidate on csmpaign,for frer,when as pl party presidential candidate,should have his flight ticket paid by his party,and not disgiide hidccampaihn trip as presidential candidate,as officialvPresident vidit..These arebtwo different thing,. Being a political party President candidate,is a political party mission ,so michrl party dhould pay for michel trsvel expenses,hotls etc...not state.
Whatever each of us judzified position,there is one thing we all agree on,namrly flight fee is too high and unjudtified.Imagr,a tourist traveling on Concodor Frankfurt,seychelles night hours long,then take a flight to praslin codting him half of amount he paid for his ticket on Condor from a 15 monute fly to reach praslin..whatcdo u think,the tourist finds that cacceptable and justify?
Abuse of the consumer be it a tourist or resident is what is happening at air Seychelles.
The free ticket policy must stop.
Each ministry needs a travel budget.
This is what hurts air Seychelles and we all know it.
It is another form of corruption.
It is incredible that PL would allow Praslinois to suffer such a fate under Air Seychelles.
Just incredible.
Today so many businesses are going bankrupt.
How can PL say it is a facilitator of business when on Praslin, it has strangle all our people indiscriminately, be you PL, SNP, SNPL, or whatever party.
Frankly I have never seen such an unfortunate situation.
I also do not see the PL treating the matter seriously after three years of exposing the problem with Air Seychelles.
I am convince that the move to hike rates is a deliberate attempt to bring Praslin stakeholders to their knees.
It cannot be accidental. No one is that reckless with an economy year in and year out.
The question for us is what is PL going to do about the mess they single handedly created?

I donot really know,if it is a delibrrate act by pl to kill Praslinois economy as part of a grandplan to deposse Praslinois from their economy to gift to foreigners and monopolists.Or simply a means od punishing Praslinois for abandoning pl and giving their support to Michel ?But whatever the reasons,the status quo must change,herrendous fares and price~gouging passengers must stop.Failing to stop it will not only bankrupt praslin econmy but there would reprecursion on pl,Praslinois will punish Michel,and his little dream of being president for third time will remain a dream.
