Air Seychelles has announced direct flights to France, Paris, Charles De Gaulle International, three times a week. Manoj Papa says this time, Direct Flights, means Direct Flights. We must congratulate him on this move. It is what all of Seychelles needs today, giving us direct access to Europe, but more critical, giving our largest inbound market direct access to Seychelles.
It is in a phrase a dream come true for our long struggling main inbound market.
Air Seychelles Needs To Get It Right!
Direct flights into Paris is one key. The next key, Manoj Papa needs to secure in his palm to make the flight work is the re establishment of the Air France Code Share agreement, which will allow Air Seychelles, direct access to the entire Air France network throughout France, north ,east, south.
The Price, Don't Forget The Price
After Manoj Papa locks on to a code share with Air France, he must crunch the numbers at 90 percent load factor and sell tickets at reasonable prices. In this deflationary cycle competition for Sun, Sea, Sand is fierce. Do not kid yourself, lob the ticket price for three months, from July to,September. Then lob it until December 15 th. By then you should have your tour operators online and this flight will be a grand success.
Praslin Most Favored French Market Destination
While you are worried about the success of the direct flights, have no fear. Praslin Mr. Papa is the most favorite and favored French Market Destination in the Seychelles. They prefer to arrive on Mahe and take a flight directly to Praslin. Time to sort the issues that face Tourism not time to cry over spilled milk of what could have been for the last four years.
U right,pl has tried ,to defend its controversial decision to stop direct flights to our most inportant market French,tells us that Direct flight is not this or that,to justifice its position
Zhe realizy is1)it is true,that whrn there is a multiples of airlines operating direct flights zo the same destinations,due to the many airlines serving zhe same destinations,competitions is ferovious,that it might be Not zhat profitable to some 2)but when we take tourist destinations,esprcially Island States,o. These destinations,direct flights,due to zhe limitation of opeartors are very profitable,espicially National flag carriers...Air Mauritius,to name one,is a good example...or Singapour airlines,etc....
Of course,the to be very successful depend not only on whether there is less or more airlines serving the same destinations,but also an airline strategy,concept,service,which entails zhings like price of ticket,comfort,or auxiliary services an Irline offers.
Pl,PAPamama,whorver,must not fear,success,...i am convinced zhat in zhe end of the year,It would be those who might have fear now,that would come on SBC,Nation,to announce to seychelloid. HOW arrivals increased zhis years,and use it as polizical elrction compaign tool.
And,i am convinced too,pl will make public a higher revenue made by Airsey,much higher zhan,what airsey is making now and that without zhe need for Etihad,to pour money into airsey coffer,i. Order to throw to Seychelloid a fictive ,fake revenue figure,to make us believe pl ,etihad deals was best.
The French tour opeartors are emthusiatic about the new.Zhat what the were calling on pl to do, Since,the stop of direct flights from French,zhese french tour operators lost millions in renevues,just as Seychelles.Zhey had the customers demand,but could not provide the supply,because means on connectivity zo our shores....descourage many French tourists to rlsewhere zhan coming to one of zhe destination they like,love best,namely,seychrlles.

If we do not fly direct we are finished. The Tourism Industry is on it's knees except for the Masons and Creole. They consolidated their monopoly in the down turn.
Pl wanted arrivals growth without good connectivity.Given the remoteness of Seychelles,pl will soon discover,that direct flights is an important determinant on the number of tourist arrival to our shores.pl will hopefully understand that geographical distance between the origine of tourists and their final destination is a major determinator of arrivals to our shores and that frequency of sirect flights will make Seychelles more accessible and feasible,for ozher International tourists.

By decreasing its domestic flight ticket,airsey can be a very competizive competor to Cat Coco,which might forced the later zo revisit its own price(esprciallx ifvpl goes tovalso reduce cost of fuel at petrol stations,which would be an importanz determinator on catcoco drcision to keep actual price or not . When one goes back and have a check of Airsey past records in regards to flying direct Flights PARIS/Seychelles ,all figures (By CAPA)showed that before the collapse of AIRSEY in 2012,,all the past years prior ARISEY was successful on the route PARIS7SEY,Visitors coming from France alone was roughly between 35 ooo to up to 40 000 thousands plus annually.So looking at past statisitcs,Pl should be asure by these figures and there is not reasons that we donot reach or exceed these past figures..it is all in the mix Pl,how you organized,advertise,entice potential clients with affordable price etc....
