Ramkalawan Misses Court Hearing

Ramkalawan Misses Court Hearing

The case of Ramkalawan vs Christopher Gill was set for full day hearing today at 9.00 pm in Cpurt No. 6. The case has been filed by Wavel John Charles Ramkalawan, seeking One Million (more) Seychelles Rupees, this time, from Christopher Gill for post done on Seychelles Reality Blog by its Administrator Mr. Gary Tall.

Mr. Gill has always maintained he did not publish or administer the blog or the comments at anytime.

While Christopher Gill turned up to face the false and frivolous claim, the Claimant Mr. Ramkalawan failed to turn up.

The Judge was tempted by Gill attorney Frank Elizabeth to dismiss the case. However, he set a date for July 31, 2015 for afternoon full hearing in the matter.

Mr. Elizabeth was a former MNA proportionately elected for the UNITED opposition in the 2006 elections, after Mr. Ramkalawan then broke the alliance agreement and removed Mr. Elizabeth from the National Assembly with the full support of the Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Patrick Hermine.

Over the years, numerous supporters have distant themselves from Mr. Ramkalawan, who Mr. Gill has dubbed the Seychelles " Priest Millionaire".

Mr. Gill says he justifies this claim because 1. Mr. Ramkalawan is a priest, 2. He is a millionaire, just counting his life pension he garnished for himself. This makes him a great success in the eyes of Bankers, but a poorer performer before God, as scripture calls on Priests to take a vow of poverty and serve the people, not get rich off them and live a life of opulence.

We will not settle this case to stroke Mr. Ramkalawans fatten ego Mr. Gill said. We will take it to judgment to teach this failing priest cum politician a lesson.

The lesson is do not let your emotions force your foot into your mouth in life. Pray before you leap on a SCR. 1 Million pile of money......it may never have been your money in the first place.

Wavel needs to move on. He should support a new group of leaders. There is no way he will ever be presidential material again. A spent force, with many, many blunders . Suing Mr. Gill is just another blunder.

I fully agree with the last comment. Not only is it a blunder but he may end up being sued again over it. He should move on. TODAY- he is the single most significant dividing force in Seychelles and he likes it that way. People at the end of the day- he just needs to move on and he should do it gracefully and possibly contribute in another manner in the future.

In a court hearing that aplaintiff failed to attend, the normal and professional procedure a juge must take, should be simply Dismmissed the case, and why not make the plaintiff, who by not attending court hearings proves that he is not taking his compaint seriuosly, pay the court expenses..set a precedent, that if plaintiff intention is to waste juge times in a casecplaintiff knew in advance he is playing jokes,,then sanctioned them
